Solomon Spalding Manuscript Found

I have been doing some research about the spalding theory. I am getting the idea that exmormons believe Hurlbut sold the manuscript found to the Mormon chruch and they destroyed it. So I was reading on FAIRlds and this guy says on pg 99 that Hurlbut was trying to find the "manuscript found" for the last 6 months of his life.
http://maxwellinstitute.BYU.edu/publica ... 3-17-2.pdfis this true? Has someone checked his reference?

I guess to add to this why would he be looking for Manuscript Found if he sold it to the Mormons?

The old lost and found items were transfered to the space underneath the stairs in the old gym's boiler room at Case Western Reserve. The gym was plowed under in 1932.

so how come Hulburt did not know the Manuscript Found was there. Why did he give Howe the Manuscript Story instead of the Manuscript Found?

Check out the last posts on the Criddle thread. It refers to some of the materials on Dale's website.
1. Howe's wife may have stolen it from him.
2. Hurlbut may have sold it to the Mormons. Hurlbut had apparently had a stroke, and did not remember.
3. Howe sold it to the Mormons.
3. The Mormons may have stolen it from Hurlbut.
4. A member of the Geayuga Co. commitee may have stolen and sold it.
Whatever happened to it, we may reasonably assume that it was destroyed. It would be worth multiple tens of millions now. Perhaps some creative person might do a Mark Hoffmann on them. LOL.

The title of the source says it all, why such a bold statement as "The Mythical "Manuscript Found"? Even putting Manuscript found in inverted commas kinda is over doing it. Why the need to make such a bold statement to suggest it would be a joke to believe in such a manuscript and that any believers are dilusional. It is from the BYU site and therefore it is likely to be proMormon and debunking the idea of such a manuscript ever existing. Why the need to appear so sure?

That would be a gut-wrencher for me, since I have been busy the past few days writing "The Book of Solomon: A Creative Restoration of Spalding's 'Manuscript Found'"
LOL Good double meaning. Would be nice to know some day how close to the original I got.

Just rip the cover off a Book of Mormon and write the new title with a magic marker above the first page. Saves time that way.
