JOSEPH SMITH THE PROPHET HIS FAMILY AND HIS FRIENDS
http://olivercowdery.com/smithhome/1886WWyl.htm
I am about 1/3 of the way through readng this online. If just 10% of what's in this book is true about Joseph and Brigham, then they were truly misguided or evil men.
Anyone read this online book on Joseph the Prophet?

Hi LDS truthseeker,
Dale Broadhurst, who owns that site is one of the foremost experts on early Mormonism... he participates on this board and can answer pretty much any question you have about Joseph Smith.
Are you interested in anything particular?
I haven't read the online book yet, but will tell you that when I started having concerns about the church, and actually learned about Joseph Smith, I was completely shocked and have concluded he was not a moral, upstanding, or even remotely decent man.
What is strange is that the actions of Joseph Smith are not in dispute by apologists or informed believers... they just find ways to justify and rationalize his behavior.

Dale has not been around here much lately. He has been posting regularly at this new site, which he is responsible for:
http://premormon.com/Forums/index.php?s ... ec41ba77a6
It is nearly exclusively devoted to Smith family history and the Book of Mormon, and does not get into discussions of the present-day saints. While we wait for Jockers et al to publish their new study, we are discussing mostly the interrelationships of the key players of that era. We want it to be a comfortable place for TBM's who would not otherwise come here.
I think it is also a stress-management strategy for him.

Thanks for sharing that. Uncle Dale has been a hero of mine for years. I didn't know what he was up to lately.
