What is your status re the LDS church?

Post by _MCB »

Quasimodo, Hoops, and I were discussing nevermos who frequent Mormon-related boards. Just wondering how many of us are here, and decided to also take a look at closet nonbelievers, and Jack-mos who are beginning to explore the negative aspects of their cultural heritage.

If your category defies these descriptors, you can check two.

Nevermo with later exposure to LDS. I think I was in my early teens when I first heard the word Mormon.

Great idea MCB! Interesting how many "closet" members there are. How difficult that must be.
This, or any other post that I have made or will make in the future, is strictly my own opinion and consequently of little or no value.

Yep. This board is "closet friendly." Necessary to prevent LDS from becoming too radicalized. I encourage them to take their time emerging. They can do a lot of good in the process.

I'm a closet member. . . as I prefer filling mine with beautiful clothing and shoes! You need an option for "too lazy to ex onself", or rather, "holding Ex card to play for "most impactful exit time!*

It is certainly a strange position to find yourself in.

Well yes, I think the best way to solve this problem is to excommunicate those who haven't attended Church in say, a year, and all those who don't hold a current temple recommend and are not actively working on one, or who actively work on one but it's been more than a year. I would implement slowly, say have each ward do six per year.

It might be easier to excommunicate everyone and just let the ones that really want to back in :).
