Any recent examples of this "continuing reveletation"?

Joseph Smith was quite the revelator. I respectfully disagree that any of his revelations were from any god, rather, in my opinion, they were from his own imagination.
However, I am curious what recent revelations have been given by the current prophet as well as Hinckley before he died.

Like many early LDS "revelations" (Word of Wisdom, blacks descended from Cain/Ham) it simply canonizes cultural norms and beliefs that predate and exist outside of Mormonism.

Happens all the time. Needs of the wards, stakes, individual members, and indeed the whole Church. Callings, who to concentrate on for reactivation, what to say, etc. etc.
Happens too often to explain away as just lucky coincidence.

Lucky coincidence that local leaders appoint people for callings? Isn't that a part of their job description?
When I got my patriarchal blessing, the patriarch specifically mentioned two of my real world talents/abilities in the blessing. Coincidence? No, he specifically asked me what they were beforehand. And that was the only part of the blessing that wasn't generic in nature. Coincidence? :D

You bet me to it.
I just received revelation to respond to this post. Thank you LORD!
My eyes were opened back when I was the executive secretary. I was right there watching this magical revelatory experience as the bishopric picked new leaders.
No praying or pondering. Just cold hard logistics and facts based on the people they had in mind.
BC, give me some continuing revelation from Thomas. Hit me with something profound.

Yup, it's pretty mundane. And yet every time a faithful member gets a calling, he/she wonders what lesson "the Lord" is trying to teach them. It's a pity that the church doesn't even try to live up to the simple faith of its members.

God really blew it with the tsunami.
Back then just before God washed the sin off the beaches of Indonesia, he could have told Gordon well before he was on Larry King Live and there Gordon Hinckley, the modern mouth piece of God, his very prophet could have wielded his prophetical prowess to the unbelieving world. Just like the stories of the prophets in the Bible!
Nope. Did not happen. Hundreds of thousands of children, many under the age of eight were senselessly drowned like unwanted puppies as the played with their families on the warm sandy beaches during the holiday. Then again this is not the first time God drowned helpless children. At least last time he sent Noah, his prophet to warn everyone...
When asked by Larry if Gordon did receive revelation from God, Hinckley said "uuhhh woool, ummm yeah! Like to build the meganacle! That was a revelation!!"

I especially like those who claim inspiration in callings. Like when it turns out the Primary teacher is a registered sex offender. Or the mission transfers are the result of throwing 'inspired darts' at the map on the wall.
The callings given to someone who already has four of them because they are one of the few in the ward who can't say no and nobody else will take the job.
BYU is a real bastion of inspired callings and hiring decisions.
Desperation, not inspiration is behind many of these decisions.

It's funny how all our modern day revelations so closely resemble business decisions (meganacle) and mission statements (family proclamation).
