So Adam being the first man, was he genetically perfect with no DNA faults? Was Eve taken from the side of Adam a female clone of Adam?

Are we going under the assumption that Adam was a real person?

Yes, let us assume that Adam and Eve are real people placed on earth by God.

I would assume that Adam must have been genetically perfect, whatever that would mean. And yes, Eve must have been a female clone of Adam, since she was taken from his rib and made from that DNA. That would make them even closer than siblings. Incesty!

If you're talking Adam and Eve, leave DNA out of the discussion. If God created Adam out of the dust of the ground (Gen. 2:7) then Adam would contain no DNA (Gen. 2:4-9) since no DNA existed in the ground and there would be no DNA links between humans, apes, worms or fish, for that matter. You're left with the DNA transfer coming from God's breath.

DNA is science (and very good science, for that matter); Adam and Eve are myth, (only one of a multitude of creation myths).

Wisdom Seeker, all of men were actually referred to as Adam in the beginning... what would later become Adam and Eve were called just 'Adam' in the beginning.

Weird, I know 0.o. It becomes somewhat clearer if you read the Books of Moses/Abraham, but even then, it's kinda sketchy.

Best Wishes,

TAO,

Are there specific scriptures in the Pearl of Great Price where I can find what it is your speaking of? I am trying to understand your point of view. Can not all genealogy be traced to a single man named Adam and his wife Eve?

Hi Called,

It's my understanding that genealogical records only go back several centuries. Only as far back as RELIABLE historic records go. One can't go back to Adam and Eve. Can't even go back to the dark ages.
