That title threw me off a bit. Thought the Sons of Perdition would be those who cast their sons off so the FLDS fathers could have first crack at the daughters.

It addresses the threat these boys are under from their "prophet". "Destruction" is what they've been taught. Central to their leaving Colorado City is that they can't get what they've been taught their whole life out of their heads. The real mind bending evil thing that tells them they are *nothing* in the site of God, because they left! Warren Jeffs is one creepy evil dude.
by the way: the film makers are ex-Mormon (LDS).

As Colorado City is now, Salt Lake City once was.
Fundamentalist Mormons in Colorado City are no different from pre-Manifesto Mormons in Utah.

I went to high school with Measom. (That puts me one step closer to Kevin Bacon than most of you.)
I saw the Sons of Perdition premier at the Tribeca Film Festival in 2009. I highly recommend it. I saw it with a friend who is nevermo and I had to explain to him that the FLDS aren't Mormons, they're "Mormons on crack".
