Hammer Away!

I see that I'm being hammered, down in the "Terrestrial Forum," for the inadequacies of my response to a questioner at a fireside in Maricopa, Arizona, at least as those are being portrayed by hostile commentators based on notes taken by a member of the audience at that fireside.
Oh well. Life is like that. Then you die.
I haven't looked over the notes, to see whether or not they reflect everything I said. If the comments are any reflection, they don't.
Still, I didn't think that my answer to the questioner was complete, either. Trouble is, there were many people with questions, and only very limited time. I hoped to speak with the questioner afterward, but didn't get a chance.
Anyway, just for the record: The position being hammered down in the "Terrestrial Forum" only partially represents my actual stance.
That said, I wish for the hammerers a fierce and triumphant joy as they reveal me, yet again, for the disingenuous, time-serving hack that I am.

Dr. Peterson,
Would you be willing the answer the question posed from the fireside here, in the Celestial forum?
The question, according to rongo over at MDDB was:
rongo wrote:I’m LDS, but have pretty much lost my testimony over contradictions between the Church’s “tightly-correlated data points” and history. I continue to go to church because of a bishopric member I can talk to about these issues. In the past, my bishop was a nice guy, but completely ill-equipped to discuss or deal with these things. I’ve tried FAIR, MADB, etc., but nothing really helps much. My question is: what is the Church doing to improve this state of things, and are things getting better in this regard?
I, for one, would very much like to hear your answer, even if people like KG and Scratch lambaste you for it.

Dr. Peterson, I would also like to hear your answer, because the “milk before meat” approach doesn’t work for persons like me who are lactose intolerant.
My thanks in advance.

Let me see if I understood your David Whitmer analogy correctly. If my friend testifies about a car accident that means I shouldn't buy a car from him?

You didn't.
I assume you're joking.

I see down in the "Terrestrial Forum" that I'm being accused of having deleted thousands of my vicious and nasty posts somewhere, in order to cover something up. Or something like that.
I haven't deleted even a
single post. The accusation isn't true.
If any posts were actually deleted anywhere -- I don't know whether any were -- it wasn't done by me or at my order or with my knowledge.

The question raised here is an important one, but I'm tired right now. It's been a long day. I'll try to get to it tomorrow.
