Ancient documents updates?

I've always been curious about the Jerusalem church around the time of the destruction of the temple. The members are said to have fled to Petra, correct?
With the activities in locating, copying, digitizing, etc historic records in many parts of the world, does anyone know if anything has been found from those early Jerusalem Christians?
