Claremont Journal of Mormon Studies Now Available

Post by _CaliforniaKid »

It can be downloaded for free in PDF format, and will soon be available through print-on-demand.

http://www.claremontmormonstudies.org/j ... index.html

Articles in the inaugural issue include,

"Where Is the 'Mormon' in Mormon Studies?" by Loyd Ericson.
"The Inspired Fictionalization of the 1835 United Firm Revelations" by Christopher C. Smith
"The Great God, the Divine Mind, and the Ideal Absolute: Orson Pratt's Intelligent-Matter Theory and the Gods of Emerson and James" by Jordan Watkins
"Prolegomena to Any Future Study of Isaiah in the Book of Mormon" by Joseph M. Spencer

You are all required to read my article, at least. The others are optional, but those who read them get a gold star and possibly cookies.

Peace,

-Chris

I don't seem to fit into any of Loyd's six categories.
I demand that he create a seventh category just for me.

Whoops. What did I miss?
You're absolutely vile and obnoxious paternalistic air of intellectual superiority towards anyone who takes issue with your clear misapprehension of core LDS doctrine must give one pause. - Droopy

I'm interested in where you would place Uncle Dale.

I do not know too much of Dale's work, but it seems that the whole "revisionist" category is where most would locate him.

seems right on ud.

Enjoyed your introductory work here and looking forward to reading the rest. The Seer always intrigued me. Especially looking forward to the article on Orson.

Congratulations and special thanks to all involved in this work. I’ve been very impressed with those I’ve come to read in these forums, as a breath of fresh air from the likes of MI work.

God bless.

Chris Smith sure had an interesting article. Did any of you know that FARMS was the code name for "inheritances"? Enoch be praised!

Wow. You are published, CK. And others, who shall not be named so as to not besmirch this thread, are not.
(Nevo, Jan 23) And the Melchizedek Priesthood may not have been restored until the summer of 1830, several months after the organization of the Church.
