Bill Maher said that Mormons place Jesus as 3rd in Heaven Hierarchy. I was thinking if there is any basis for this claim.
I thought, Maher could be basis his statement on the comment that "no one enters the Celestial Kingdom without the consent of Joseph Smith"
other than the "Mormons worship Joseph Smith" is there a theology basis for someone to believe that Jesus is second to Joseph Smith?

I think Bill needs to do more to get accurate information about many religions. I think he has gotten a number of things wrong about other religions as well.

Heard this and was annoyed by it, even the Book of Mormon Musical is far more accurate on this point.

Christ says "No man comes unto to the Father but by me"
The LDS teach that the Celestial Kingdom is where God dwells.
Brigham Young said "No one enters the Celestial Kingdom without consent of Joseph Smith."
Based only on the the statements above, Christ v. BY, is it reasonable for a person to think Joseph Smith is placed in more importance than Christ?
And to the thread title, is there a basis for Maher or others to believe such?
I think there is a basis, though, misguided, but one can not deny that BY and Christ seems in opposition to each other concerning entering Gods presence.

Tenuous basis at best - the BY statement has always felt like hyperbole to me.

Well. You have Heavenly Dad. Then you have Heavenly Mom. Then you have Heavenly Kid.
1.2.3.

Honestly though, women in Mormonism are put in a lower caste. Jesus probably rates higher than Heavenly Mom.

Didn't you hear that women had the priesthood in the pre-existence and will have it in the afterlife? Also, if Heavenly Mom is anything like Big Momma then she ain't no second to nobody no how.
