Think about it this way.
You (Mormon Tithe Payers) are paying the wages/stipend/living allowance of the speakers. So are you getting an appropriate return for your investment?
Each session of conference consists of two hours worth of talking. This two hours worth of talking will have taken circa twenty hours worth of preparation time. Add in the cost of lighting and heating the conference centre plus broadcasting costs.
What did the last conference return on your investment?
5 sessions - ten hours of talking, minimum 200 hours preparation time.
So, what have you done differently since the April conference as a direct result of the words that you heard and how has that benefited you?
Was it worth the money you paid to hear it?

Next year I'd like to take that money and invest it in something with greater returns. Junk bonds, for instance.
