From an article about three Mormon missionaries who were mown down whilst out riding bikes. Two were killed, one survived.
Stephen Trayner, the mission president of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in McAllen, said he believes Harris is a very strong man.
"He obviously took a tremendous amount of trauma,” Trayner added. “How he survived the accident, we are not certain, but we believe the Lord has allowed him to survive."
So this Mission President believes that the Lord allowed this Elder to live, but by default, that the Lord chose to let the other two die.
I wonder how the parents of the Missionaries who died feel about the Lord's picking and choosing.

I, too, am sad that bcspace suggested that these missionaries deserved to die based on that D&C scripture....God seems to be pretty petty when it comes to things like this....

No. I was merely suggesting that, according to LDS theology, the Lord did have a hand in it as in two person's time was up, the other's was not. That is all.
