Your Prophet Needs You...
...well, your wives that is.
Here's a hypothetical situation based on a true story (the names have been changed to protect both the innocent and the guilty).
The Prophet of your Church has received a revelation that some of you male true believers need to allow him to marry your wife and be sealed to him for time and all eternity.
Would you allow it?
Ladies, your husband has been asked to 'give' you to the Prophet of your Church and he has given his permission.
You okay with that?

Re: Your Prophet Needs You...
hardly a post appropriate for the celestial.
your flame threads put forth that only intend to mock the LDS church have begun to reveal your true character.
How does the absurd and juvenile hypothetical in your post merit sincere discussion?
i mean to say, why would i not allow it?
i believe this forum allows for a poll to be taken if you are just "curious"

Interesting.
Would your wife be given a say in the decision?

Joseph married many women who were already married to other men. Are you saying Joseph's behavior wasn't Celestial?

Here is the problem.
From the start the scenerio is set up where the woman is not a free agent. She is a possession, a belonging, a piece of property.
That is extremely offensive.
Who the heck is someone else to say what I will/can or cannot do with my own body and mind?
No. Just no.

Oh, and if my husband said he would "give" me to someone else...let's just say it wouldn't be a problem because I'd leave his arse.

D&C 132 presupposes that women are mere chattel to be given or taken. They are only given a token say on matters - if you refuse to allow your husband to take on extra wives, you're in sin, and he can do it anyway. It is official LDS doctrine that women are the property of men.

Of course, it hasn't been long that women have been looked upon as anything other than property...and even then it isn't exactly like everyone has changed. Look at the world. Women are still treated like shitake mushrooms.

I find it something that does merit sincere discussion. How can it be absurd and juvenile?

Good answer. Statement based on your faith.

A poll still allows you to expand on your answers, and comment on the question, if I understand correctly.
My answer, if I believed that the Prophet was delivering a revelation from God for me, would be to do so. I would probably question it, and ask for some guidance on the matter, but it would be wrong to disobey the word of God.
