The great apostasy - how can the Church stop it?

In the other thread Jensen talks about a desire to bring to the members the information via Church sources that they are gleaning from elsewhere. The discovery of which is the cause of a significant exodus of members.
Feasibly, is there anything that the Church can do that would reverse this trend and not make it worse?

It's a big problem because they've been teaching propaganda instead of history for years. So not only do they have to deal with an unflattering real history, but they also have to deal with the fact that they've been systematically lying to the membership.

They should publish all the facts in one big book, then let the members decide if they want to leave the faith or not.

All Legal Documents.
The Original Printing of the Book of Mormon which states God as a Trinity.(Who exactly did Joseph see in the first vision?)
(To me the First Vision is the Most Disgusting part of Mormon doctrine because Mormons scratch their head and say; "It seems logical Joseph Smith saw God and Jesus in a Pillar of Light" Mormons may have seen a Pillar of light as well, minus Jesus and God... Something about the first vision story never sat right with me in all my days as a Mormon Youth)

I was not aware until several years ago that that there was more than one version of the First Vision. (Of course, apologists would say that it is my fault I did not educate myself more. LOL)

Or update their website with the disturbing facts.

Why would that be a problem? The Nicene trinity has separate Persons. I agree that referring to the LDS Godhead as a trinity is disingenuous considering what we know now, but I don't think it unreasonable to make that mistake as even lay trinitarians often don't understand that doctrine.

Great apostacy? How does the church even legitimately prove that the current brighamite derived branch is correct, or that the fundies are not correct?

I think the Community of Christ and Worldwide Church of God method is the best way to go. It will bear consequences and have fallout. But just like the housing market, you can't exist on an inflated model forever.
Call out what is bad. Keep what's good. Seek forgiveness. This would probably take the church back to Kirkland theology.
