If Mormonism is true...

...and everything about it, doctrine, practices, beliefs etc was correct in Gods eye's would it matter to your engagement in it?
I made a post on another thread and realised that even if Mormonism were 100% true and accurate I still wouldn't want to be a part if it.
Road to Damascus moment for 'drifting'...

If classical Mormonism were true, no I wouldn't want to be a part of it. You know, with racism and the sexism and the homophobia and the guilt-mongering and the Borg ideal (If I recall correctly Joseph actually taught we all will someday have the exact same personality as God) and that sort of nonsense. None of that.
A fuzzier, gentler version of itself, sure. A kinder, gentler, kid friendly version.

and yet here you are 1800+ posts deep into it...admirable and sincere you are.
i think you should have a Mark 9:50 moment and steer clear of Damascus.

Are you suggesting that you should only post here if you are a believing Mormon? That if you are disengaged from Mormonism you shouldn't come here to discuss it?

I think what he is trying to suggest is that posting on the site is the same as being part of the Mormon church... although who can really tell as most of his posts make little sense?

What an uncomfortable though! I have never been and I'm quite sure I never will be a Mormon. Even if posting here qualifies me, they're not getting my 10%.
If the LDS Church did turn out to be true (100% sure that would never happen), I would "seek out the dark forces and join their hellish crusade." (Addams Family Values).

Hey, if I knew in advance that the lava was not suitable for swimming, I would have kept my clothes on. You guys are talking about playing Russian Roulette when you know all the chambers are full.

If I knew Mormonism was true I would definitely not be posting on this site nor would I even be reading these posts. In truth, I would not care one iota what people posted on this site.
In fact, I know that while I was a believing Mormon I never once, ever came to this site. No, wait, when I was a believing Mormon the internet did not exist. OK, the first statement is true, I never came here while I was a believing Mormon.
I would even recommend that believing Mormons stay away from this site. You will be setting your salvation in jeopardy. This site will damage your belief structure. The very act of trying to argue against the posters here is damaging. Every hole in your belief system that you try to fix, the more off-kilter the whole system becomes.
It will be like Romney's statement (MITT ROMNEY (2/1/2012): I said I'm not concerned about the very poor that have a safety net, but if it has holes in it, I will repair them.
A net is full of holes. That is what makes and defines it as a net. If you fill in all the holes it is no longer a net. The net becomes a blanket that smoothers.

no, that is not what i am suggesting.
what i am suggesting is that there is characteristic being described when one claims to be "disengaged" but refutes that claim by "[coming] here to discuss it".
maybe a little like going to an AA meeting drunk
