Thomas S Monson in October 2008 said...

We are a global church, brothers and sisters. Our membership is found throughout the world. May we be good citizens of the nations in which we live and good neighbors in our communities, reaching out to those of other faiths, as well as to our own. May we be men and women of honesty and integrity in everything we do. (October 2008)

May we be examples of honesty and integrity wherever we go and in whatever we do. (April 2011)

The dude is probably the laziest of the 15 when it comes to preparing talks. He's constantly recycling old material. This is extra blatant, though. Good catch.

During Conference in April 1996 Thomas S Monson said...
And away they went to visit Brother Denndorfer. He had not had home teachers since before the war. Now, when he saw the servants of the Lord, he was overwhelmed. He did not shake hands with them; rather, he went to his bedroom and took from a secret hiding place his tithing that he had saved from the day he became a member of the Church and returned to Hungary. He presented the tithing to his home teachers and said: “Now I am current with the Lord. Now I feel worthy to shake the hands of servants of the Lord!” (April 1996)

I guess we can't criticize him for not having a consistent and unchanging doctrine on that issue.

So, basically, if you've heard one conference you've heard them all.

God's prophetic inspiration for Conference speakers comes in 5 to 10 year cycles...

“Now I am current with the Lord. Now I feel worthy to shake the hands of servants of the Lord!” (April 1996)

“Now I can shake your hands.” (October 2005)

Either this guy actually said, "Now I am current with the Lord. Now I feel worthy to shake the hands of servants of the Lord! Now I can shake your hands," and Monson just reported different bits of the conversation at different times -- or Monson feels free to just rewrite history as he sees fit.

I find the Oct 2005 quote a little easier on the ears.

From the Ensign:

- Ensign » 2001 » October / First Presidency Message - Hallmarks of a Happy Home
By President Thomas S. Monson First Counselor in the First Presidency
and
- Ensign » 1988 » November - Hallmarks of a Happy Home (Conference!)
President Thomas S. Monson Second Counselor in the First Presidency
The two article are word by word identical.

- Ensign » 2006 » August / First Presidency Message - Led by Spiritual Pioneers
President Thomas S. Monson First Counselor in the First Presidency
and
- Ensign » 1997 » May - They Showed the Way (Conference!)
President Thomas S. Monson First Counselor in the First Presidency
There are two little difference:

1. The first two paragraph
(2006) This summer we mark 159 years since the pioneers, under the inspired leadership of Brigham Young, entered the valley of the Great Salt Lake and proclaimed: “This is the right place. Drive on.”
Often we honor the great leaders and followers on this historic journey, but I wish to call attention to other “pioneers” who preceded that trek.
(1997) This year, 1997, commemorates the 150th anniversary since the pioneers, under the inspired leadership of Brigham Young, entered the valley of the Great Salt Lake and proclaimed: “This is the right place. Drive on.” Much will be said at this conference concerning that epochal event, and thanks will be given to God for His watchful care and guidance.
On this beautiful Sabbath morning I wish to make a few remarks concerning “other pioneers” who preceded that trek.

2. The title ...

The target audience don't watch / don't read.
If they read, don't understand.
If they understand, don't remember.
