Why does the Church sanction a 'women only' Conference in addition to the normal General Conference which contains men only and a women only sessions?

Is this just some olive branch by the Church to make the women feel important?

no, it is not...
but wow, you certainly woke up feeling like a misogynist today didn't you?
That you would suggest this position has your views of women highly suspect in my opinion, let alone how you view women of faith.
you should be ashamed, if that capacity was in you.

I would offer the hypothesis that, in response to criticism of the lack of people of color taking a role in GC, they will institute another conference for people of color. Of course, this will be strictly supervised by the old white men.

All in favor of separate and unequal say aye.

p. 157-158 Mormon Hierarchy- Extensions of Power Quinn states that Clare Middlemiss, McKay's executive secretary, had too much power-- for a woman. She was replaced by D. Arthur Haycock, and the responsibilities of the executive secretary were expanded.

Could it be the Mormon Leaders latest attempt at mass polygamous sealings to women who are already married?

No, you didn't.

The question of the thread is "why does the Church sanction a women only conference?"

You answered - "no, it is not"
