Paying tithing = culpability...?

Post by _Drifting »

This has come up indirectly in a couple of threads.

If you provide funds to an organization are you, in part, culpable for wrongdoing or immoral actions by that organization, especially if you know upfront about where your money is going?

For example, let's say you provide funds to the Irish Republican Army, knowing that those funds will be used to complete terrorist activities.
Are you, in part, culpable for those actions?

Moving on to the Church.
The Church has provided funding for homophobic activism.
Members know the doctrine and policies of the Church are against homosexuals and that the Church has indeed publicly sated it's intention to fight against equal marriage rights for gay people. If you pay tithing under those conditions are you culpable of homophobia?
