Live longer by following the WoW
I remember reading that if you restricted the caloric intake of mice to 1/3 normal intake, you could dramatically extend their life. These mice, albeit retarded, would live to the human equivalency of 210 years. Now imagine if you could add in someone with long life human genes, perhaps a member of the Vilcabamba tribe who was BIC, and had him rigorously follow both the same caloric dietary restrictions and the Mormon dietary restrictions (WoW), he could live another 90 years past the age 140. He could serve off and on in many Bishoprics.
He would be so old that he might remember the days of President David O. Bednar and even the years before President Bednar revealed how the term "coffee and tea" actually meant pickles. That is why apostates leave, so the can eat Vlasic® Polish Dills.
Hope these statistics help.

Sorry for the board imposed asterisks. I should have used the proper-speak term, mentally challenged. Thank you for the decorum provided through word filtering.

Who would want to live 140 years if you couldn't eat pickles?

Actually, pickle juice might make you live to 140 years.

Do Mormons actually keep the "Word of Wisdom" rule or only those more obvious parts? I know many who would not allow tea or coffee to pass their lips (despite some proven health benefits in both) but guzzle down gallons of Coke and other drinks full of caffeine and goodness knows what else. Isn't the Word of Wisdom rule like a restoration of the dietary laws of the Mosaic Law fulfilled in Christ?

No, Mormons eat meat frequently and at times other than winter, cold and famine.

I drink wine. I'm sure the WoW talks about that somewhere.

I lived in France for a little over a year and developed a taste for it. I particularly like sweet and red wines. Château Haut Bernasse Le Clos makes some good sweet wines and Château Haut-Bailly puts out some very good Bordeauxs.MCB wrote:Just so long as the vintners are Utah Mormons.
