So, during Sunday School today the teacher explained what an anti Mormon was:

"Anti Mormons are ex members who couldn't hack it"

You must have been sorely tempted to explain what "it" is.

There is a theme running through all the Sunday School lessons.

Stay in the mainstream of the Church and don't get involved in topics that are at the fringes of Mormonism.

The issues that trouble me don't seem like "fringe" issues, honestly. To me, they are at the heart and core of everything I am and have been over the past twenty odd years -- as a believer and as an apostate. I am not going to wake up tomorrow and think, "Oh, that stuff is wholly tangential!" Pretending that things don't matter to me when they really, really do seems like a bad idea. Every time I try it, it turns out poorly. I seem to get better results from simple honesty, with myself and others; but this keeps me from participating meaningfully at church.

Yep, these two phrases about Anti-Mormons being ex members who couldn't hack Mormonism and the one warning about staying out of the fringes of Mormonism, crop up most weeks as themes in whatever the topic of the lesson.

Apt, but incomplete, description.

And the anti-mormon "Drifting" misrepresents the actual truth of what is actually taught and said concerning anti-mormons.

He tells only half truth.

We all know that anti-mormons can be all kinds, and when and if it's ever mentioned in Sunday school, most of those aspects are also mentioned.

As a Christian, I've never heard a Sunday School discussion that atheists couldn't hack being Christian or talk about anyone ever leaving the particular church I was attending at the time. There has been mention concerning fence sitters. But that is about it. The only direction Sunday School took was Biblical in nature --- Bible lessons/stories, character models.
