I have listed some of the mystery (Babylon) teachings of apostate Christendom here:

1- A virgin gives birth to the Son of God.

2- There is one being in the Godhead that is somehow divided into three persons.

3- The eucharist magically turns into the body of Christ when eaten.

4- Angels materialized themselves so they could marry the daughters of man.

5- God is a being who is somehow everywhere, but nowhere in particular.

6- One can be saved just by making a verbal profession of faith.

7- Evil, matter, and mortality are all unreal, a dream, if you will.

8- The Catholic church is holy, and the pope is infallible, even though they tortured and killed many people and the pope stated that the earth was the center of the universe.

9- God had to change His plan after Satan ruined His masterpiece in the garden of Eden.

10- Jesus is not God, even though He accepted worship as God.

11- When one is dead they become out of existence.

12- Adam is God the Father.

13- Little babies need to be baptized to wash away their stain of sin.

These are only a few. There are many more!

And here are some more:

14- Adam materializes like magic from the dust of the earth.

15- Eve springs forth like an amoeba from Adam's rib.

16- God punishes all those who never have heard of Christ along will all the others who have not made that verbal profession of faith by roasting them forever in a literal lake of fire.

"For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine.......and shall be turned unto fables."

gdemetz wrote:I have listed some of the mystery (Babylon) teachings of apostate Christendom here:

1- A virgin gives birth to the Son of God.
God had sex with Mary
2- There is one being in the Godhead that is somehow divided into three persons.
There are multiple Gods beyond this worlds God, we can become Gods with our own planet, God lives on a planet near Kolob
3- The eucharist magically turns into the body of Christ when eaten.
You cannot bless the eucharist if you have facial hair
4- Angels materialized themselves so they could marry the daughters of man.
An angel with a flaming sword appeared to command Joseph to marry multile wives
5- God is a being who is somehow everywhere, but nowhere in particular.
God was once a man like us who know resides on a planet near Kolob
6- One can be saved just by making a verbal profession of faith.
Mormons can only be saved if they pay 10% of their income, or have a second annointing, or have a temple sealing
7- Evil, matter, and mortality are all unreal, a dream, if you will.
I think gdemetz is confusing Christianity with a film satrring Keano Reeves
8- The Catholic church is holy, and the pope is infallible, even though they tortured and killed many people and the pope stated that the earth was the center of the universe.
All other Churches are an abomination and the whore of all the earth. Joseph stated men lived on the moon
9- God had to change His plan after Satan ruined His masterpiece in the garden of Eden.
Satan tempting Eve was part of the plan all along and Satan went along with it. This happened in 4,000BC
10- Jesus is not God, even though He accepted worship as God.
Ehrm, Mormons don't believe Jesus is God...
11- When one is dead they become out of existence.
When you're dead you go to one four kingdoms within which the top kingdom has three seperate division of which the top one can only accept you if you're married.
12- Adam is God the Father.
Adam is Michael who, in the Book of Abraham is part of the group refered to as 'the Gods'
13- Little babies need to be baptized to wash away their stain of sin.
7 year olds arent old enough to be accountable for their sins, but eight year olds are...
These are only a few. There are many more!
Agree
"For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine.......and shall be turned unto fables."

seems like you have chosen to go more with the "uninformed"
as usual you have provided an erroneous manifesto of what you want the LDS Doctrine to mean...you and miss disingenuous dance together awkwardly.

1. God having "sex" is not Doctrine nor is it as you characterize (as usual)
2.
3. not true
4. not a Mormon belief
5.
6. not true, disingenuous
7.it is spelled "KeanU"...and his agent could not get him that good of a role.
8. Statements by Joseph do not necessarily translate into LDS "beliefs".
9.
10. Ehrm...not the point
11. is it married or "sealed"?
12. point?
13. finally, you got an actual belief correct...you are doing well in primary?

Since there never was a complete apostasy except in the ramblings of Joseph Smith this thread is based on a false assumption.

Albion, you really need to STUDY the Bible! Paul specifically states the that time (the coming of Christ) would not occur until a GREAT falling away had happened!!! Albion, how many times can you be wrong here?! There are so many more scriptures like that one! Why do you suppose that there was a necessity for the "restitution pf all things"?!? Don't you think that it could have something to do with that great "falling away"?!?

There is a difference between a falling away and a total apostasy. Mormonism has a great falling away going on right now (Just read Marlin Jensen's talk on the subject) but sadly even I would not charge that Mormonism is about to go into total melt down. I wish it would but wishes are not fact. Jesus did not come on a failed mission no matter how important it is for Mormonism to charge this because it is such an important foundation for its beliefs. It, coupled with Joseph Smith as a prophet, is the great lie of Mormonism. Everything else hinges on these two false claims. Swallow those and you will swallow everything else he said.
