The George W. Romney Institute of Public Management, Brigham Young University, seeks applications for a faculty position in its MPA program. Well-qualified candidates with a completed or nearly completed PhD in public administration, public policy analysis, political science, economics or a related field are sought.
Field and rank are open, but applications from those able to teach public sector strategic management and the public policy process will be particularly welcome. The Institute is interested in excellent teachers and active researchers, with a strong commitment to the public and non-profit sectors.
Housed in Brigham Young University’s Marriott School of Management, the Institute offers an accredited MPA degree currently serving over 200 full and part-time students. Salary, teaching load, and research and travel support are competitive.
Review of applications and nominations will begin in September, 2012, and will continue until the position is filled. Letters of application and inquiry should include research and teaching interests. Please include curriculum vitae and names and addresses for three references. Starting date will be Fall, 2013. Address inquiries to:

you might lose that bet...but i am curious why you would want to be that anyway? is there an inference you are trying to make with this rather ridiculous post?
especially since almost 20 out of the 66 extended board members are women...and not all "white" (whatever that means)....and there are women on faculty currently
and given their diversity initiativehttp://marriottschool.BYU.edu/career/mpa/profile.cfmi am sure the "diversity" will be determined by who chooses to submit an application.....was that your inference?

1. Political Correctness is not "diversity".... People are hired according to their qualifications. Fact is, is there are simply more men who are the most qualified for the respective positions. Wise people do things and hire for the best, not for political correctness or liberal perverted "diversity". That thinking is part of the exact reason is country is going to hell, because THE BEST are not leading this country in all sectors of society.
2. At BYU-H my private music teacher and one of the music departments instructors was both black and non-mormon. She was hired because she was good at her job, not because of her race or gender.
Whatever happened to Martin Luther Kings Dream....??? People judged for the content of their character, not their skin color or gender? Liberalism has perverted MLK's dream!
So much for liberal anti-mormon bigotry.

You might want to let your hate of the church go at some time. I think it clouds your views. While racism and discrimination still exist, I see it existing in the church probably at the same levels as the surrounding culture. We also have to take into account LDS culture, not to mention a number of other factors before we could realistically say they are being racist or discriminatory in their hiring practices. Do you have any evidence to suggest they do?

Compare the ethnic profile of the Faculty with the ethnic profile of the catchment from which to recruit members.
Compare the ethnic profile of the Apostles with the ethnic profile of the membership.
Neither are reflective of the 'catchment' both are reflective of a unbalanced preponderance towards white, heterosexual males.

It's a lot more complicated then that.
Compare the ethnic profile of the Apostles with the ethnic profile of the membership.
They certainly don't let women into that one. It still is very dominated by white males, but then most have been there a while. I find the church is usually a number of decades behind the rest of society.

So, you apply "child" psychological thinking to "complex" issues of culture, training, education, etc. to make your judgments of the Church, thus classifying it "racist" thereby?
Ya, things like being raised up and prepared for a position doesn't apply.
Ya, things like familiarity and experience with various individuals doesn't apply.
Ya, being raised up closer to Zion thus more experience with how the Church works doesn't apply.
Ya, we should just hire people based on their skin color, not their qualifications.
Drifting..... Why don't you figure it out that YOU are the racist???
Your liberal "guilt" makes you want to FORCE the world to be perfectly equal, no matter qualifications, experience, etc..... but JUST ON THEIR SKIN COLOR.
ha aaaa haaaaa
My home teacher is black.... and a great man. Stick your racism where the sun doesn't shine!

Ldsfaqs, you seem to be saying that a desire for equality is a bad thing. Why?

In terms of ability, I am am well-qualified to do it. However, in terms of having the requisite certificates, I am sorely lacking as my education and experience are more scientific. I've actually interviewed under those circumstances and while seemingly appreciated for it, certificates Trump ability unfortunately for many people and organizations.
