Perfect example of how anti-mormons bear false witness by cherry picking words to create a false conclusion and assumption, instead of paying attention to their actual CONTEXT and meaning.

Brigham was teaching a particular "context" and WAY that Adam is our God.

He was not actually claiming Adam is our God, in the way we all "traditionally" understand who "God" is.

Christ is also called "our God" or God.... Yet we all know he's not EVEN according to Christ HIMSELF!
Our Father is our only GOD.

How do you know that that is what Brigham was doing? Did he say that somewhere?

Firstly, that talk was presented in it's entirety so there's no possible cherry picking done here.

Secondly, (Speaking of Adam)
Brigham Young wrote:He is our FATHER and our GOD, and the only GOD with whom WE have to do.

Sounds pretty clear; Adam is our God.

It is perfectly clear that BY is off his nut. That's all that is clear. The whole thing is garbage and should just be dismissed by any Mormon. There is no reason a Mormon should explain it any further than that.

A more interesting question is what led BY to think Adam was our God.

Makes sense to me.
Adam was an immortal being, rather than being moulded from clay, born of Godly parents (immortals) that procreate after their own kind.
having been through the eternal round, become GODs in their own right. and with their immortal genitalia, popped out some sproggs.
Makes sense to me.

Also Eve was not a literal immortal daughter of the same GOD-PARENTs But some other GODs from their own corner of space, that had also been through their own eternal round and also achieved GODHOOD and one of their sons needed a EVE and guess where she came from? *DAUGHTER SWAP*.

Myths debunked and incest problem sorted.

Where do spirits come from? the Holy Ghost part of the GODHEAD, who also has a spirit wife and they reproduce after their own kind.

Physical GOD does the Physical crap, Spirit GOD does the spiritual crap and everyone's happy! no problems nothing to argue about no shity religions that get all confused.
Job done.

Your plans crap, I win the contract.

Sooner or later, all dead prophets reach this level of acceptance.
Sooner or later, all living prophets will die.

The tendency is clear...

That BY may have taught that the Adam who fell is God the Father was disproved long ago. Not only by the more accurate Adam Sr Adam Jr hypothesis but by the doctrines BY believed and taught as well precluding such a notion not to mention his distinct separation of God the Father and the Adam who fell elsewhere in the JoD.

And besides all that, the JoD is not a doctrinal work........
