Book of Mormon. The LDS church teaches that in 1823, an angel named Moroni visited Joseph Smith and divulged the location of some golden plates containing the “fullness of the everlasting gospel.” These plates—abridged by Moroni and his father, Mormon, 1400 years earlier— were written in “reformed Egyptian hieroglyphics.” Along with the plates, Smith found a pair of magical eyeglasses that he used to translate the cryptic writing into English. The first edition of this work was printed by the church in 1830 and is called The Book of Mormon.
In the introduction page to this book it says: “The Book of Mormon is a volume of holy scripture comparable to the Bible. It is a record of God’s dealing with the ancient inhabitants of the Americas and contains, as does the Bible, the fullness of the everlasting gospel.” This is simply not true. It is not comparable to the Bible and it certainly does not contain the “fullness of the everlasting gospel.” There are many central and critical beliefs held sacred by the Mormons that are not even mentioned in this book. Here are just a few of these teachings:
•Elohim (God the Father in Mormonism) was once a mortal man and that he was not always God.
•God has a body of flesh and bones.
•God is married in heaven.
•Men can become Gods.
•Temple participation is necessary to become exalted.
•Jesus and Lucifer are brothers.
•The blood of Christ does not cleanse us from certain sins.
•A person can lose his salvation if he is not baptized on behalf of dead relatives.
•There is more than one God.
•Males must hold either the Aaronic or Melchizedek Priesthood.
•There are “three degrees of glory.”
•“Celestial polygamy” (Mormon men will have many wives in heaven) is approved by God.
•Faithful members of the church must wear sacred undergarments that have the power to protect them.

I for sure disagree with these two. I don't think there are many (any?) Mormons who believe these two things. I've never heard the second one in my whole life.

It would be more accurate to say Mormon men can or may be able to have more than one wife in heaven. And the LDS at church would probably not refer to it as "Celestial polygamy." At least, I have never heard anyone say it like that.

In the Mormon church I was often corrected when saying Jesus died for our sins...
He didn't die for our sins, he took our sins upon him in Gethsemane and that was it.
(so why we have to be baptised and watch a video about the creation and learn handshakes and passwords on behalf of dead people I do not know.)
O yes I remember now, its because there is no heaven and hell, there are now lots of grey areas that God never told any other generations about till now.
and baptism only lets you through the garden gate and not into your own mansion.
There was nothing significant about the way he died,' other than him choosing to 'give up the ghost' that he apparently could retain as part immortal being.
But if he hadn't died what use would the ancient law of animal and human sacrifice be?
Nonsense.

Message from the First Presidency: Salvation Universal: Ensign, Feb 1971 wrote:And why such condemnation? Because “the greatest responsibility in this world that God has laid upon us, is to seek after our dead.” Because we cannot be saved without them, “it is necessary that those who have gone before and those who come after us should have salvation in common with us, and thus hath God made it obligatory to man,” says the Prophet Joseph Smith. Just Me, this is from the current Gospel Principles Manual Chapter 47 'Exaltation'.
Requirements for Exaltation
The time to fulfill the requirements for exaltation is now (see Alma 34:32–34). President Joseph Fielding Smith said, “In order to obtain the exaltation we must accept the gospel and all its covenants; and take upon us the obligations which the Lord has offered; and walk in the light and the understanding of the truth; and ‘live by every word that proceedeth forth from the mouth of God’” (Doctrines of Salvation, 2:43).
To be exalted, we first must place our faith in Jesus Christ and then endure in that faith to the end of our lives. Our faith in Him must be such that we repent of our sins and obey His commandments.
He commands us all to receive certain ordinances:
1. We must be baptized.
2. We must receive the laying on of hands to be confirmed a member of the Church of Jesus Christ and to receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
3. Brethren must receive the Melchizedek Priesthood and magnify their callings in the priesthood.
4. We must receive the temple endowment.
5. We must be married for eternity, either in this life or in the next.
In addition to receiving the required ordinances, the Lord commands all of us to:
1. Love God and our neighbors.
2. Keep the commandments.
3. Repent of our wrongdoings.
4. Search out our kindred dead and receive the saving ordinances of the gospel for them.
5. Attend our Church meetings as regularly as possible so we can renew our baptismal covenants by partaking of the sacrament.
6. Love our family members and strengthen them in the ways of the Lord.
7. Have family and individual prayers every day.
8. Teach the gospel to others by word and example.
9. Study the scriptures.
10. Listen to and obey the inspired words of the prophets of the Lord.
“We look to not only the spiritual but also the temporal, and we believe that a person who is impoverished temporally cannot blossom spiritually.”

Drifting (and Just Me)
Please, note the following FAIL as attributed, once again, to Drifting.
Mittens claimed
(emphasis mine)Mittens wrote: •A person can lose his salvation if he is not baptized on behalf of dead relatives.
and then Drifting tried to justify that claim by quoting a reference from exaltation? por que?
To be saved—or to gain salvation—means to be saved from physical and spiritual death. Because of the Resurrection of Jesus Christ, all people will be resurrected and saved from physical death. People may also be saved from individual spiritual death through the Atonement of Jesus Christ, by their faith in Him, by living in obedience to the laws and ordinances of His gospel, and by serving Him.
To be exalted—or to gain exaltation—refers to the highest state of happiness and glory in the celestial realm. These blessings can come to us after we leave this frail and mortal existence. The time to prepare for our eventual salvation and exaltation is now.
exaltation and salvation are no the same
So, i agree with JustMe on that point...likely it has never been heard.

True...
Mormons...Not 'Faux Mormons' on here making up their own rules and giving personal opinions, TBMs believe Christ atonement is limited and therefore certain sins are not covered.
(Unjustified) Murder & (thinking about sex) with a woman/Adultery, are definitely not covered, unless permission is sought from local leaders and so on... and confirmed by hallucinations of angels with swords/the voices in your head, feeling in your genitals, bowels, heart, and mammary glands/Holy Ghost)
True...
A person can lose his salvation, once salvation has occurred. Once again ignorance or missing the point!
In order to loose something one must have it, someone convinced something is ACTUALLY theirs before they get it, are deluded just ask people who use on-line auction sites.

Whatever. I know what I believed as a TBM and I know what I heard and did not hear at church. I know the beliefs expressed by the TBM's around me.
You guys can show me whatever you want. I still don't think any TBM would express their beliefs in the way expressed in the points I disagreed with.
No skin off my nose.
