From Joseph Smith:

“For behold, the day cometh that shall burn as an oven, and all the proud, yea, and all that do wickedly shall burn as stubble; for they that come shall burn them, saith the Lord of Hosts, that it shall leave them neither root nor branch.

“And again, he quoted the fifth verse thus: Behold, I will reveal unto you the Priesthood, by the hand of Elijah the prophet, before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the Lord.

“He also quoted the next verse differently: And he shall plant in the hearts of the children the promises made to the fathers, and the hearts of the children shall turn to their fathers. If it were not so, the whole earth would be utterly wasted at his coming.”

History of the Church verse 38, Pearl of Great Price

.........

Funny how lies haught Mormonism since Joseoh Smith came up with same verse in his JST and Book of Mormon disagreeing with Pearl Of Great Price rendition which agrees with the Bible not mentioning Priesthood

Malachi
CHAPTER 4
Judgment on the wicked -- Blessing on the good -- The study of the law -- Elijah's coming.

1 For, behold, the day cometh, that shall burn as an oven; and all the proud, yea, and all that do wickedly, shall be stubble; and the day that cometh shall burn them up, saith the Lord of hosts, that it shall leave them neither root nor branch.

2 But unto you that fear my name shall the Sun of righteousness arise with healing in his wings; and ye shall go forth, and grow up as calves of the stall.

3 And ye shall tread down the wicked; for they shall be ashes under the soles of your feet in the day that I shall do this, saith the Lord of hosts.

4 Remember ye the law of Moses my servant, which I commanded unto him in Horeb for all Israel, with the statutes and judgments.

5 Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the Lord;

6 And he shall turn the heart of the fathers to the children, and the heart of the children to their fathers, lest I come and smite the earth with a curse.
Joseph Smith Translation

3 Nephi 25:
5 Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the Lord;

Joseph Smith Jr must have third degree burns on his legs for this one

I suppose it would have to be the one ripped off in the Book of Mormon?

Or is that a different part of Malachi?

Mittens learn to construct a post properly...
And people will understand what it is you're getting at.

Write a sentence introducing the subject and why it is a problem.
In this case you could have said:

The Book of Mormon cannot be an ancient work because it quotes Malachi possibly before Malachi was even written
(Malachi 4:1 written about approximately 600-400BC and seems to be cited in 1 Nephi 22:15 Allegedly written around 588-570BC).

So it seems Nephi wrote it around about the same time?
Coincidence? YOU DECIDE???

Apologists say God can communicate to whom ever he wants when ever he wants and therefore the message could be word for word the same on either continent.

AND...That 'link' is just Annoying!
why do you do that?...Go sell your phony God else where.

Come on guys! Mittens you are really stretching now. It seems as though you are avoiding me. You guys are calling that simple expression in Nephi as a quote of Malachi? Give me a break!

Are you saying the vast swathes of KJV Bible content that appear verbatim in the Book of Mormon are mere coincidence?

Vast Drifting? There are common expressions in all languages. If it is the Spirit speaking through the prophets, then why would you think He would change HIs expressions with each prophet?
