This seems to be implanting in the members that if they see a less committed member then, chances are, it's because of sexual immorality or that they are unkind, violent or abusive.

This seems to be a disgraceful generalisation. I am a less committed member. I am not unkind (I am in fact very generous). I am not violent. I am not abusive (abusing you, subgenius, doesn't count). I am not sexually immoral nor impure in thought or deed.

Now if members of my ward read Elder Cook's words they may now be inclined to think that I am all/some of those things and that explains my current lack of commitment. He is inaccurately tainting some very good peoples reputation.

without the tedious task of weeding through all your posts on this board, i find this statement, based on experience, to be likely an exaggeration. Your posts seemingly contradict your assertion to an extent....at least to the extent of your commitment.

True, and one that is not correct generally. While some may become less committed to their religious group, others will become more committed due to guilt. It also doesn't bring up other more dominate reason's why people become less committed to a religious group, but then that would lessen what he wants to communicate. I don't condemn him to much since this is something he was probably taught as a youth and has unfortunately carried with him into adulthood.

So, once 'the man who communed with jehovah,' started thinking and therefore becoming immoral, his focus was not on building up the kingdom as in missionary work and gathering tithes and offerings, but building up the kingdom by sowing the seeds of love. His commitment to the organisation waned, while his commitment to the ladies increased, he was therefore less committed.
