Since Christ is the head for his church what need is there for prophets, real prophets, or as in the list you present, false prophets?

Define "false prophet."

I think the list provided adequately defines the term "false prophets". As the scriptures indicate, in times past God spoke through his prophets but now he has spoken through his Son. With Christ as the living head of his church, the body of believers, he is prophet, priest and king.

We have had prophets who were also priests and kings!!
Joseph Smith
Brigham Young
John Taylor
Were all anointed Prophet, Priest and King!
Sadly our modern day versions don't see the need to be anointed a King. Why is that?

I do see the irony in your post and who can argue with it in real terms. I just have a problem with lists like Abraham, Moses, Isaiah, Joseph Smith, Tom Perry, and Dallin Oaks. Perhaps only to me but it does point up the lunacy of the Mormon claims.

1776 kinda soured people in the new world towards the idea of a "king".

While I see your point with Perry and Oaks, who clearly do not belong on the list, I think we are too close in time to see if Joseph Smith makes it. Clearly if Mormonism disappears he would not, but if 1000 years from now people still believe the Book of Mormon is scripture, then I would have to include him.
