hello everybody

previous week my wife and i talked with two elders.
they said lot tales,Book of Mormon and joseph smith,but my wife liked.
one my neibor was Mormon three year but not now.
i asked him. he said not a word because he hate,but he said i can ask mormondiscussions.com.
he said that elders can not answer the questions or lie.
he said here is antimormon people and apostles and people know everything.
maybe my wife will not like if the elders not answer.

send me questions i can ask and the answers.
maybe my wife and i can compare the answers of the elders.

If you are asking honest questions, you have come to the right place. Most people here do not like to be called anti-Mormon, but many here have left the Mormon Church and can answer your questions.

If I understand you correctly, you have been visited by LDS missionaries and your wife finds their religious teachings interesting and is thinking of joining. You would like the members here to provide you with questions for the Elders that they would find hard or impossible to answer.

Ask the Elders, in front of your wife, if she dies before you, are you allowed to marry a second wife and that both your current wife and your future wife will be married to you in the next life?

That will probably be a question the Elders can answer and and answer your wife will not like.

And while you are there with your wife, ask them how many wives Joseph Smith had.

The answer is: He took as many as 40 wives, some already married and one only 14 years old.

It is good you are being cautious, studying it out.
Mormonism is a cult, in good ways - sense of community, and bad ways - demanding of your time, money & soul.

The main 2 problems with the church (& missionaries will probably be clueless) are:

1) Financial corruption. Church charges ALOT for worthine$$.
And they charge & spend incorrectly, counter to scripture.
Tithes are supposed to be based on increase, but church charges based on income.
This is wrong because:
Imagine 2 men earn the same income amount.
1 man is the sole provider of a family of 7 & after paying basic bills, has no increase left.
The 2nd man has all of his bills paid by his parents, so all his income is increase.
The church charges the same amount for each man & that is antiChrist & contributes to poverty.

The church also does not obey the law of tithing (Deut. 14:28-29) that instructs leaders to share 1/3 of tithes with the poor. Although the LDS church keeps money secret, Elder Oaks did admit that NO tithes go to the poor.

2) Cognitive distortions are taught in church, which contribute to mental illness. Utah, predominantly LDS, leads the nation in anti-depressants.
There is a list online of common cognitive distortions, but a most obvious one in church is polarized (bi-polar) thinking: "You are either on the Lord's side or Satan's side." In reality, we're on both - one more than the other, depending on the moment.

I would suggest asking the elders to teach your family about prayer, the love and ministry of Christ, and how to have greater faith in God.

Perhaps that's not the suggestion you're looking for, but I wish you well.

This is like a car salesman trying to get a potential customer to ignore the price or past history of a car and focus on how the car makes him feel.

Here is a question you can ask; but it could also be asked of ANY church:

Christianity teaches that Christ has already redeemed us. However, this disagrees with what Christ said:

Luke 21:25 ¶And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring;

26 Men’s hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken.

27 And then shall they see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory.

28 And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh.

In other words, even AFTER Christ returns in power and glory, redemption is only near....it is NOT yet. As such, it would seem that what Christianity teaches and what Christ actually said about the timing of "redemption" are NOT in agreement. That means that what "redemption" means to Christianity may be completely different than what Christ was talking about.

There is cognative dissonance inside of ALL religions.

Here is what I think the answer is to the question I posed about "redemption".

Isaiah spoke of Christ in this way:

Isaiah 9:6 For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.

7 Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will perform this.

Then we have Christ talking about the condition of the world being at terrible war between the people. During the conditions which even cause the hearts of men to fail them, Christ returns to the earth in power and glory. But He tells us that our redemption is only near (nigh).

I think that when Christ returns He is going to set up a government over which He will reign. That government is going to bring the peace that we are seeking; and which was promised by Isaiah. Since it will take some time for that government to be established, THAT is why Christ said that our redemption was only near even AFTER He has returned. The "redemption" Christ was talking about is the peace that He is going to bring to earth. At that time, those who are participating inside of mortality will finally be able to do so in peace. The redemption Christ is talking about is NOT spiritual; but rather a physical peace and "redemption" from the mess we have made.
