Wow, didn't think LDS church buildings were allowed to be used in this way.

If Ed attempts to solicit donations then he breaches the conditions under which the Church would allow him to host this 'fireside'. But overall I think he's in the 'grey area' where local leaders could choose to allow it or equally choose not to.
