Question to everyone out there it seems to me Mormon discussion is populated with alot of people who do not believe in Mormonism the loudest voices I would say are quit hostile to the church and it's beliefs. it seems to me there are very few people on this forum who actually belief or are willing to defend the fundamental beliefs of the church.

Anyone who wishes can come to this site and defend LDS beliefs. That few do is a good indicator about which side the evidence falls on.

My opinion is that Mormonism is practical when it comes to the value people derive from adhering to the faith, and for most people's purposes it serves best as providing meaning for how they live their lives. It doesn't lend itself to the kinds of discussions where it is open to criticism from a skeptical perspective, partially because it's history has been manipulated in the form most members have had it taught to them. But largely because where the membership experiences the value is in relationships and "lived" religion if you will.

I think it's fair to say the majority of people who post here are either former LDS or non-LDS who are skeptical of it's claims, both religiously and historically. There are and have been a few believing members who have found themselves a nice place in the community, but really the majority of believers have disappeared over the years or found themselves on the other side of the fence now.

For better or worse, I think discussion requires people approach subjects with some intent to respect the other person if they still take issue with their views. And that is easily swept aside in the discussions here. Part of the fault does lie with the Church in that I personally think the institution does much deserving of criticism. Unfortunately when the Church is defended, the burden of defending the entire institution gets placed on the backs of the believers and the discourse tends to degenerate or fail completely at some point. That's often not the fault of the believing members.

That said, respect tends to be a reciprocated virtue and those who find ways to be respectable and respectful seem to do well...but even those participants seem to visit less and less frequently these days.

my 2 cents.

In your case the loudest voices have less to do with the church and more to do with criticizing your claims. That isn't an argument against the church. Like I have said to you before, just because you are wrong in what you claim that doesn't mean the church isn't true. It just means that you are wrong.

What you have presented isn't the fundamental beliefs of the church. You presented your own hobby ideas and even publicly stated that apostles of the church were in error in the dedicatory prayers of temples in Guatemala. You put yourself into that position and then make personal attacks on those who try to discuss your errors. You made lies about me (that I hate America and a false statement about my avatar) and you refuse to face up to the false witness that you bore about me and now somehow you act as if it doesn't matter because you label me as an anti-Mormon who is hostile to the church.

You might spend a little more time wondering why sites populated with mostly Mormons have banned you. But instead, you post on the only site that has allowed you to continue to preach your nonsense, and you make the claim that the loudest voices critical of your claims are anti-Mormon. That just isn't very honest. Why do you do this?

Bomgeo, many others have pointed out how, particularly in the Celestial Forum, the problem isn't with Mormonism per se, but is actually with your off-the-wall theories. Since they have articulated that well, I will just leave you with a quote:

Ralph Waldo Emerson wrote:Let me never fall into the vulgar mistake of dreaming that I am persecuted whenever I am contradicted.

I am curious. If you think you are defending Mormonism effectively, why doesn't the Church itself publish and promote the very same arguments, sources & evidences you do?
