Joseph Smith stated clearly that the Song of Solomon was not an inspired book. However, Joseph was simply noting that this beautiful poetic song did not contain the phrase "It came to pass..." No phase, not inspired.
My guess is that Joseph Smith would have been a big fan of Walt Whitman's Song of Myself.
"I speak the password primeval. I give the sign of democracy." That sign by the way (a.k.a. the sure sign of democracy) is made with raising your right hand to the square, moving your elbow towards your back, and then resting your hand on your head with your fingers making a fluttering motion. Try it, you'll like it.

Joseph seemed to like:
Women (hey, let’s be honest about it)
Kin (or relatives)
Loyalty
Ideas from prior religious figures (e.g., Swedenborg)
Ideas from contemporary Mormons (e.g., Lorenzo Snow)
Traveling mummy exhibits
Women, again...
Masonry

His gift of “translation”
Joseph seemed to dislike:

Smith also liked ...
* Money (Other people's money, to be specific)
* Other Men's wives. (He deserved the best women, doncha know)?
* Adulation, approbation and recognition. (His own, of course).
* Alcohol
* Spirits of the dead. (He was a necromancer).
* Loyalty (Proven by giving him whatever he asked)
Smith disliked ....
* Insubordination / Challenge to his "authority"
* Disagreements with him
* His wife. (A man who loves his wife would not have done the things he did to her).
.... And much more ..... both likes and dislikes.

What do you mean by this? Not that I disagree with the claim, just curious what comes to mind when you make this remark.
