Duane S Crowther in his book Life Everlasting page 151

Teaches standard Mormon belief when he says that “good” spirits return to the earth and converse with Mormons to

1. Give counsel
2. Give confort
3. Obtain and give information
4. Serve as guardian angels
5. Prepare others for death
6. Summon mortals into the spirit world
7. Escort the dying through the veil of death

Deuteronomy 18
9 “When you come into the land which the Lord your God is giving you, you shall not learn to follow the abominations of those nations. 10 There shall not be found among you anyone who makes his son or his daughter pass through the fire, or one who practices witchcraft, or a soothsayer, or one who interprets omens, or a sorcerer, 11 or one who conjures spells, or a medium, or a spiritist, or one who calls up the dead. 12For all who do these things are an abomination to the Lord, and because of these abominations the Lord your God drives them out from before you. 13 You shall be blameless before the Lord your God. 14 For these nations which you will dispossess listened to soothsayers and diviners; but as for you, the Lord your God has not appointed such for you.

15 “The Lord your God will raise up for you a Prophet like me from your midst, from your brethren. Him you shall hear, 16 according to all you desired of the Lord your God in Horeb in the day of the assembly, saying, ‘Let me not hear again the voice of the Lord my God, nor let me see this great fire anymore, lest I die.’

17 “And the Lord said to me: ‘What they have spoken is good. 18 I will raise up for them a Prophet like you from among their brethren, and will put My words in His mouth, and He shall speak to them all that I command Him. 19 And it shall be that whoever will not hear My words, which He speaks in My name, I will require it of him. 20 But the prophet who presumes to speak a word in My name, which I have not commanded him to speak, or who speaks in the name of other gods, that prophet shall die.’ 21 And if you say in your heart, ‘How shall we know the word which the Lord has not spoken?’— 22 when a prophet speaks in the name of the Lord, if the thing does not happen or come to pass, that is the thing which the Lord has not spoken; the prophet has spoken it presumptuously; you shall not be afraid of him.

Are Mormons alone among the religionists in terms of having supernatural beliefs?

Exactly. Mormonism simply latched on and piggybacked onto the Christian cult which is totally founded in the same concept as that of the Old Testament: Namely, you are saved by blood sacrifice. The cult members in the Old Testament used to smear animal blood on their very persons and sing chants to Jehovah hoping that he would be merciful to their glorified clan. Then came the Christians. They were bent on outdoing the Jehovah cult so they came up with the idea of human sacrifice and labeled their participant a god. But you have to drink his blood and eat his flesh in order to fall in the good graces of this cult.

It's all so sick. Christianity makes my stomach turn when I think about it. The idea of cult leader Jesus telling me to drink his blood makes me cringe.

Gross.

Then there is as you say, the spooky holy ghost. Well, the spooky ghost of Christianity is quite a tale for sure. Actually, it's quite a joke. But isn't that what Christianity is all about -- faith in things you can't see or prove? Yep. it's all about faith in their invisible god and how drinking his blood is going to save you a place at his table.

Oh god, get me off this subject. I feel sick. The whole Jesus thing makes me feel ill when I think about it. it's so gross. Yuck.

or one who conjures spells, or a medium, or a spiritist, or one who calls up the dead.

Yes, that was Jesus taking his cult followers up on the mount to visit with the dead. But here we see that Christians are able to outperform worshippers of the Old Testament and can actually summon those dead spirits to come and do their bidding.

It's right there in the New Testament, a cult book for those who love belonging to a cult.

Scary stuff. Very creepy if you ask me.

Hence we have the king of false prophets, Jesus himself. He said he was coming back quickly and would rule the world. Well, 2,000 years have gone by and so will another 2,000 years and creepy Christ will have not returned. His word is void. His word is false.

I am not afraid of Christ. At all.

which I have not commanded him to speak, or who speaks in the name of other gods, that prophet shall die

That pretty much sums up what Jehovah thinks about those who don't belong to his cult -- kill them!

Must false prophets in modern times also be slain? Where is the Lord? I don't see him killing false prophets. I don't see members of his cult killing false prophets either. No stonings, no deaths, no retribution.

Looks like Jehovah lost his teeth. Nothing but empty threats.

I don't know that they teach that, I don't know that they emphasize that.

Mormon teach continuing revelation here is from one of there Prophets seer revelators

Joseph Fielding Smith said that "the law of sacrifice will have to be restored.... Sacrifice by the shedding of blood was instituted in the days of Adam and of necessity will have to be restored" (Doctrines of Salvation, vol. 3, p.94).
It is interesting to note that even though the Mormon church teaches animal sacrifice after the death of Christ, they cannot
find any support for this doctrine in the Book of Mormon. In fact, the Book of Mormon condemns it in the strongest terms. In 3 Nephi 9:19 Jesus was supposed to have said: "And ye shall offer up unto me no more the shedding of blood; yea, your sacrifices and your burnt offerings shall be done away, for I will accept none of your sacrifices and your burnt offerings."
