Read those scriptures in John again to see how this works.

Polytheism-I haven't encountered this before.
So is the God you worship the most powerful? Do you plan to be most powerful when you become deified?

In answer to your question, are you more powerful than your Father? Are you more powerful than your grandfather? It is the same principle. The same sociality that exists among us here will exist among us there, only it will be coupled with glory.
You may have heard of the varying degrees of glory. here is a continuation on that teaching.
D&C 88:36-39
36 All kingdoms have a law given;
37 And there are many kingdoms; for there is no space in the which there is no kingdom; and there is no kingdom in which there is no space, either a greater or a lesser kingdom.
38 And unto every kingdom is given a law; and unto every law there are certain bounds also and conditions.
39 All beings who abide not in those conditions are not justified.
The Holy Ghost sanctifies and instructs in the things of the celestial kingdom. If we cannot abide that culture, we will not share in it in the world to come.

My dad's stronger than me (but only by 10 lbs on bench press) and my grandpa's dead. I don't really know what you want for powerful. I don't have any special powers (that I know of). I can whistle most of the Overture from Tommy, is that a power?
Now to the point you brought up.
It's not the same principle because me and my ancestors are mortal and God(s) are immortal. How can the same social concerns exist when the people/Gods don't die? If the Gods never die the natural dynamic of being weak, being powerful, and finally declining doesn't exist. There would only be a presence of power. One God is just as powerful as his Grandfather whose's as powerful as his Grandfather.
