Awesome Idea - Presentation

Post by _micah »

I saw on another forum that a guy had created an OpenOffice Presentation for the regarding the historical Jesus.

Why not for Mormonism? A slide show presentation would be ideal when sitting down with missionaries, family members, etc. It could have version numbers (1.6, 1.7, etc.) as it is updated to be completely factual. The die-hard Mormon's here could help with the fact checking.

Example: We don't know how the Book of Abraham was translated, revelated, regurgitated, etc, but we DO have Oliver's description and can insert pictures of the scrolls.

As a collective, we could create and fact check one presentation far faster than each of us could create individually. We could create a thread, or a wiki to contain the entire thing as it is updated and release the presentation monthly. Any ideas?

First slide, a table on contents either by subject, but preferably chronological.

There should be an addition to the GPL that disallows the use of open source software to spread b**s***.

In all seriousness there should be a presentation in which one could have a slideshow of the thirty women joseph smith slept with under the guise of being a prophet of god.
And crawling on the planet's face
Some insects called the human race
Lost in time
And lost in space...and meaning

I agree it would be amusing, but the TBM's would argue that he never copulated with them. I am looking more for facts. A few months back I had a missionary tell me that the Book of Mormon was describing the Aztecs and Mayans. I want a presentation I can give them after they finish their discussion. My friends always invite me to sit in when the missionaries come to their house and I am sick of having to carry two backpacks full of Books to show my sources. A slideshow with quotes, pictures and references from start to finish with very little wiggle room would be a LOT easier to bring with me. Heck, it would fit on my USB drive.

The wiki would give the TBM's the ability to fact check and correct whatever parts they want to dispute and the finished product would be a slideshow of "THE MILK AND THE MEAT".

I like this presentation even though I don't agree with all

Although I don't agree with everything, this presentation is pretty good:
