I have a good TBM friend from college who used to have a separate email address from his wife, but a few years ago, they started using a new shared email account. I never heard the reasoning behind it, but I thought it was a little strange. In my opinion, sharing an email address with a spouse is like using speaker-phone every single time somebody calls.
