I'm not using it as an excuse, Wade. I hope you would agree that I've been able to post without flaming or personal animus, as have many others. I'm just tired of people pointing over here and telling us what awful people we are, so awful in fact that we had to be banished from MAD.

I realize that you aren't attempting to make excuses (in fact, I said as much), and I agree that you have been able to post without flamming or personal animus. And, I can understand you being tired of being told those things you mentioned above, just as "TBM" and MA&D participants may be tired of all the disparaging comments stated here and there about them.

How about this as an idea (Beastie will like this idea): since we each have more credibility and pursuasive power with our own, that we make a proactive effort to pursuade our own to speak more respectfully about those on the other side?

To make this manageable, I suggest that for each of the threads on the first two pages of the MA&D that are devoted to "exmo's" or this board, that I post a suggestion on how to be more productive and respectful in interfaith dialogue (actually, I have already done this on the one thread that I could find there), and for each of the threads on the first two pages here that are devoted to "TBM's" or "MA&D", that you post a similar suggestion. If, as you suggest, the flamming and personal animus or overall disrespect here is comparable to MA&D, then it should be a breeze for you. ;-)

Yes, an excellent idea. I only wish I had thought of it myself. ;)

I'm also very willing to engage in civil discourse with anyone who indicates that they desire civil discourse. Many other posters have shown up here and it was very likely they had MAD nicks no one knew. But they weren't pestered for them, either. ALITD behaved rudely from the get-go, which is why he was treated rudely in return and the conversation was diverted to musings about his identity. The exact same phenomenon would happen on MAD, except the rude newbie would also be banned. (if they were exmormon - if they were Mormon, they would be given many, many chances to reform and a much more lenient measure would be used in the first place)

I"m resurrecting this thread to note that Ray is now using this statement as part of his sig line:

"Ray is an enormous, ugly hypocrite," - "Mister Scratch", on the Mormon Discussions Board.

This thread made clear that scratch was ONLY attaching this description to Ray if he were, indeed, posting anonymously as ALITD (who seems to have disappeared). So is this an admission of some sort?

I"m resurrecting this thread to note that Ray is now using this statement as part of his sig line:

"Ray is an enormous, ugly hypocrite," - "Mister Scratch", on the Mormon Discussions Board.

This thread made clear that scratch was ONLY attaching this description to Ray if he were, indeed, posting anonymously as ALITD (who seems to have disappeared). So is this an admission of some sort?

I noticed that he had done that, perhaps as a kind of "homage" to his beloved idol, DCP, who, last time I checked, is also quoting me (for what has got to be the umpteenth time) in his sig line. Another bit of evidence that ALITD is Ray is his mention of the name "Phin[n]eas." I have joked before that my full in real life name is "Phineas Scratch," but have only done so two or three times at the most, in conversations with, If I recall correctly, Ray and Gaz, and that's it. Ray truly has sunk into a deep pit of unethical behavior if, indeed, he is ALITD.
