Too much attention due to Mitt? LDS Inc thinks so..

Post by _Polygamy Porter »

Look at this PRfrom LDS.org

in my opinion, it appears they are realizing more and more the effect that Mitt and the great-and-abominable infobahn has on the unwitting nevermo public.

The above linked article is, in typical morg fashion, full of half truths and inconsistencies:

They also believe in the Holy Bible and regularly teach from it.
No, they cite quotes from past LDS leaders more. Most testimoany meetings are filled with what? Praise to the man Joe.

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is not Catholic, Protestant or Orthodox but holds a unique place in the Christian world as restored New Testament Christianity.
Hmmm, so then, why did the Old Testament principle of polygamy need restoring? As well as many other doctrines ONLY found in the D&C/PoGP? Are the accusing Jesus of being lazy?

In addition to the Bible, Mormons use other scriptures, including the Book of Mormon: Another Testament of Jesus Christ, which supports the Bible and serves as an additional witness to the ministry of Christ. Mormons believe these additional scriptures have given them deeper understanding of why people are born into mortality, where they came from and what awaits them in the next life. Similarly, they have a view of the nature of God and the eternal progression of His children that is found in no other Christian faith.
That is a huge stretch. The majority of LDS theology is NOT contained in the Book of Mormon, most of it is in the D&C and PoGP, as well as select sermons and teachings of past leaders.

Additionally how can they claim that the Book of Mormon "supports" the Bible when they don't even believe it is as divine as the Book of Mormon or even the D&C, if in fact they even believe the Bible to be divine at all?

Then this last paragraph takes the cake:
Journalists and researchers are also being encouraged to deepen their understanding of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints by getting to know its members, by visiting a regular Sunday service and by witnessing firsthand the effects of faith in individual lives.
So, rather than asking questions about the origins of this religion, why not just go and sit down behind a family of 4 screaming snot nosed brats and listen to the lame sermon given by untrained ministry or the lay members and just sit with eye big as saucers and jaw down on the floor in sheer utter amazement of how the restored gospel of Christ makes these people GOD's chosen people!!!

Keep spinning it you LDS Inc PR fools, the above was pa-friggin-thetic
