I understand what you are saying, and if it were a minor little feature, I'd say forget it. But, come on...we're talking about the single most used component of the web site! I would think it should deserve a little bit more attention than some weird little anomaly that nobody ever used and happened every so often.

Try as you might, and as sucky as IE might be, it is still used (according to you) 70% of the time.

I program in ASP.Net and I have never had any problem storing my cookies between browsers. Not sure why PHP has such a problem??

Maybe because ASP.Net was written by microsoft in an attempt to push people away from open source solutions, making it proprietarily compatable with it's own softwares so as to regain their monopoly?

The problem with IE goes way beyond what I can do with programming. There's so many hijacks out there that there is simply no way to fix for all of them. And since IE is so tightly integrated with the OS, the slightest glitch in the registry or filesystem will destroy all hope. And there's no simple way to re-install if it is taken over, as well.

Has anyone else had problems with the log-in's? In all my tests, it worked fine, which is why I keep saying make the switch to a better browser -- chances are that it's merely /your/ Internet Explorer that's FUBAR'ed.

Abestos -- If you're /that/ worried about malware, you DEFINITELY need to switch to Opera. If you're still worried about malware after that, run it with SandBoxie (http://www.sandboxie.com/) and you'll always be safe. Although, I run only Opera and FireFox, with no resident scanner/shield, and with only a hardware firewall, and I've never been hit with any malware. And I don't have annoying "Are you sure?" messages every 3 seconds, either.

Is this just my browser, or do others see this as well?

I know I've seen at least one other person say it, but I can't remember where.

Unless I click on reply before I log in I always have to log in twice, from any computer terminal I use (they all use IE).

Why not just download Firefox or Opera, and use that browser when you're looking at MDB, and use Explorer for your other stuff?

That's what I do.

There are some websites that work better in different browsers, depending on what browser they were written for.

Now, if I'm viewing a Microsoft site, such as any of the MSN sites (I actually have a website in MSN Groups), then I view it on Explorer.

I will say, though, that since I've switched to Mac for my home computer, I really don't miss Explorer at all. I thought I would, but I don't.

And, at work, I have both Explorer and Firefox loaded, and I gravitate toward Firefox more often than not.

I used to have this problem when I was using a Windows laptop (I've since moved to a MacBook Pro), but oddly enough it was when I was using Firefox. And only on that particular laptop. When I used my desktop PC, no such problem (also with Firefox). I was never able to determine what the cause was, let alone a solution.
