LDS Response to Prop 8 Already Written?
I'm guessing the LDS church has already written their responses to the prop 8 results - and in their mind - it's a win-win.
Prop H8 (thanks for that one goodk) doesn't pass:
"We are deeply saddened by the results of the prop 8 vote. However, we are truly living in the latter days, and the time of jesus' return is upon us. We have been warned of the wickedness that will come upon us in these latter days, and we are witnessing the fulfillment of that prophecy. Stay strong, be true to the church, pay your tithing, and you will be blessed at the time of the 2nd coming."
Prop H8 passes:
"The lord has truly blessed all of us. Our time, prayers, and donations to the cause have not gone unnoticed by god. The passing of prop 8 is a testimony to the truthfulness of this church and is a direct result of god's hand at work. Stay strong, be true to the church, pay your tithing, and you will continue to be blessed."
Anyone want to wager?

Too bad they don't release one or the other prior to the election, and thereby earn their title of Prophet. But that would be a crap shoot, and we know they take their direction from society, not God.
(Nevo, Jan 23) And the Melchizedek Priesthood may not have been restored until the summer of 1830, several months after the organization of the Church.

It's funny how God once had more than enough power to convince the Egyptians to release their Hebrew slaves, but now God doesn't have enough power to convince 51% of Californians to vote for Proposition 8--he now has to have his minions do it for him.
"Finally, for your rather strange idea that miracles are somehow linked to the amount of gay sexual gratification that is taking place would require that primitive Christianity was launched by gay sex, would it not?"

So true.
Or find what a woman did with the beginning of the most important book on earth(116 pages).
It would seem God is getting soft in his old age.

Old age?! God is only 6 days older than he was when Adam and Eve walked the planet.
That crap with Joseph Smith happened a few hours ago. If anything, god just changes his mind minute to minute. ("I like polygamy... no I don't... yes I do... blacks are bad... no they aren't... I like facial hair... no I don't... yes I do... ahh, who cares...? I do... no I don't...")
I guess omniscient means "I think everything."
God belief is for people who don't want to live life on the universe's terms.

You know why? Because before the establishment of judicial review in Marbury vs. Madison, God was a more supreme executive and had the power to "convince" pretty much anybody of pretty much anything.

Cross post from NOM:
... after all of the stories I've read recently about people finding lost car keys as a result of prayer I've started to think that, whatever god may have been in the past, he has decided to specialise in the lost key business. Or maybe he's old and worn out, what with all the miraculous answers to prayer that he's been responsible for in the past (even as recently as the days of Joseph Smith, BY etc), and now all he has the energy for is helping with the occasional lost key. ...

A statement like that is probably a little too prophetic-sounding for the Church (and the prophets who run it) to be comfortable with.

These are the only two phrases out of everything else you said that I think would stand any chance of being found/included in the church's response either way the vote goes. You've got to remember, whatever announcement comes from the church is going to be for public consumption. Meaning national/world media. Your contrived responses sound too weird and/or apocalyptic to be put out there for Joe Gentile to read.
Nice try.
