Re: for what it's worth: My thoughts on new essay re Joseph Smith's polygam
I have heard the same complaint many times by people who, until just a few days ago, were having real difficulty in finding specific essays. End of story. Do you always act this 'dickly'?informant wrote:as was i...........i searched both on LDS.org and on google and found the articles instantly.............your personal anecdote is either totally wrong and meant only to score a cheap shot or the members you associate with are complete idiots.Rollo Tomasi wrote:I was referring to those who tried to find the essays while ON LDS.org, not via a Google search. Moreover, I was simply saying what I have personally heard; I haven't done a scientific survey. Get over yourself.
Are you serious? My paper (linked above) is 52-pages, single spaced. Why would I waste bandwidth by copying and pasting the entire paper here? Just click on the link, dude, and read it.informant wrote:no you posted a LINK to a google doc not the actual words of the articleRollo Tomasi wrote:I did post it here -- look up at the OP for the link to my paper as a PDF "Google doc."

You've described believing members as "subservient schmucks" for being obedient to their priesthood leaders and "idiots" because they rely on LDS.org as their trusted source on Church information. Great way to put down your average believing Mormon. If anyone doesn't understand what it means to be Mormon it's you. Maybe you should watch some more of those "I'm a Mormon" Ads?
are the essays on LDS.org or arent they??
That doesn't say much for the Republican party now does it?
Mitt Romney was so popular that he lost the election. Congratulations.
WTF>??? he was the second most popular candidate out of.............like 8 candidates.................that isn't unpopular you schmuck!!!!!!

I guess anonymity on the internet is only acceptable when it is coming from a corporation you agree with?
Thanks,

no its acceptable most of the time..............but a 52 page hit piece one would think would be signed by the author not a fictional character from a lame novel

those people are morons..........the essays are extremely easy to find..............do they know how to use a "search" box?
actually...........im calling your bluff.................no one is that stupid your just trying to score cheap shots by saying that your experience with fictional morons is everyones experience

Yes, I know there are other dates that have been suggested -- I chose Compton's 1833 date after reviewing the evidence (including Hales) and concluding (for myself only) that 1833 seems the most likely year of their marriage.
Well, then we will have to agree to disagree on the year that they got "married" in.

It seems that informant has been studying Tobin's style and demeanor.

This, or any other post that I have made or will make in the future, is strictly my own opinion and consequently of little or no value.

Either way both years are before Joseph Smith claimed that the sealing powers were brought down from heaven.
Yep.
