Apostle Ballard Is Being Accused Of Sharing Confidential Tithing Records With Tim Ballard and O.U.R.

Post by Everybody Wang Chung »

Compared to this latest shocker, the recent SEC fines/fraud really don't seem so bad. It's just going from bad to worse for the Church.

It turns out your "confidential" tithing records, are probably not that confidential. It looks like the Apostles used their powers of discernment to help Tim Ballard collect donations from rich members to further fund Tim Ballard's worldwide tour of strip clubs and to sexually abuse women. Awesome!

The Church and it's leaders have shown time and time again that they are unethical. I know it's a shock to everyone.
A new filing in a lawsuit against Tim Ballard and Operation Underground Railroad contains a jaw-dropping assertion about a senior leader of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

It alleges that Davis County Attorney Troy Rawlings told OUR attorneys he had “evidence” that senior apostle M. Russell Ballard and/or other “church authorities” had provided the faith’s tithing records to OUR to help the nonprofit anti-sex-trafficking organization target large donors or wealthy Latter-day Saint congregations.

And of course, we have a self-appointed Mopologist, who has been Tim Ballard's biggest cheerleader and enabler for almost a decade. DCP really is the Harvey Weinstein of Mopology:

“Rawlings alleged that…Elder M. Russell Ballard’s son-in-law is involved in investing OUR’s money,” the lawsuit exhibit reads, “and Elder Ballard and/or his family is benefiting from the investments.”

The district attorney and the church declined to comment on that as well.

The acting president of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is home after spending time in the hospital last week.

President M. Russell Ballard, 95, posted about his hospital stay on his Facebook page Thursday.

“Following a wonderful and inspiring general conference, last week I suddenly found myself in the hospital with respiratory issues,” he wrote. “However, I have since been released from the hospital and returned home where I am attending to duties as I am able.”

Perhaps he was wrestling with an unclear conscience...

I'm dismayed that criminal Attorney General Sean Reyes so readily involved himself with this scam and even ran interference against a Davis County investigation. What discernment deficit in regard to this entrapment ruse! Dr. Peterson needs to use his dowsing rod on these things.

I've heard rumors that when it comes time to call a new stake president that sometime the visiting authority will ask for suggestions and also consult a list of the top tithe payers in the stake for the short list of people they will interview. It seemed to be enough smoke to think there is a fire, of people who were close enough or knew first hand, like stake executive secretaries being asked to prepare the list. However I can't back that up concretely, just something I have heard for years and years.

I think it is great that they have Reyes using his personal email to warn Tim. Why make a call when you can create a digital trail showing you know to avoid using your work email?

The church is denying this.
A senior apostle with The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints “has never released tithing records to Operation Underground Railroad or any other organization,” a church spokesperson said Monday.

Now since despite the warnings in the Book of Mormon the LDS church is heavily a legalistic Jesus, you can drive a truck through the statement. Did Melvin share the records with Tim, and not OUR directly? Did Melvin direct an underling to do it? Did they just give Tim names and information to contact top tithing donors from tithing records, without releasing the records themselves? I can’t find it, but I know there was a donor who told their story they got called up out of the blue and had never heard of Tim or OUR before, so someone somehow got him on a list.

Interesting denial ... doesn't address the accusation that Elder Ballard provided lists of wards and individuals for OUR to target. That can be done without releasing "tithing records."

If the latter never happened, the denial would have addressed it. Therefore it seems even more probable that a list of potential donors was, in fact, provided.

Yeah, that is a completely snaky denial. B.S.
