The Church is going to monetise temple cafeterias…

Post by I Have Questions »

Fast Food Franchises coming to a temple near you soon…
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has announced it will begin reopening temple cafeterias in select locations through a new partnership with Chick-fil-A, the popular quick-service restaurant chain known for its chicken sandwiches and values-based business practices.
Gallon-sized Cokes will help keep patrons awake at least…
Premise 1. Eyewitness testimony is notoriously unreliable.
Premise 2. The best evidence for the Book of Mormon is eyewitness testimony.
Conclusion. Therefore, the best evidence for the Book of Mormon is notoriously unreliable.

Imagine the membership boost if you could get Chick Fil A at your local LDS McTemple on Sundays!

They could even add a drive-through next to the sealing rooms.

Given that the people who make it as far as the temple cafeteria have already paid 10% of their annual income to get that far, couldn’t the Church provide the food as part of that “entrance fee” instead of charging the patrons even more money?

I’m also wondering if the Church will open up “temple cafeteria” service missions so that Chik FIL A avoid paying for employees in those franchises.

On this thread is a discussion about the Church monetising it’s cafeterias by franchising them to Chik Fil A. Whilst researching for that thread I came across something relevant to this discussion…
As of 2021, the owner, Dan Cathy, is still actively involved with groups such as the National Christian Foundation, an organization "spearheading the derailment of the Equality Act".
Perhaps the temple franchises are Dan’s reward for pushing forward the Church’s agenda whilst they maintain plausible deniability.

Inquiry: is there anything to the rumor that Chick fil A will be serving food in the cafeteria at LDS temples?

The rumor that Chick-fil-A will be serving food in the cafeterias at LDS temples is not true. This story originated from an April Fools’ joke published on April 1, 2025, by LDS Daily and spread on social media platforms and forums. The joke described a fictional partnership between Chick-fil-A and The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints to reopen temple cafeterias with a special menu, but this was intended as satire and not an actual announcement.

Multiple online discussions have clarified that the story was a prank, with many users noting the publication date and context. There is no official statement from either Chick-fil-A or the Church confirming such a partnership, and no credible news outlets have reported this as fact.

The only real Chick-fil-A news related to "Temple" is the opening of a new Chick-fil-A restaurant in Temple, Texas, which is unrelated to LDS temples or their cafeterias.

In summary, the rumor about Chick-fil-A serving food in LDS temple cafeterias is an April Fools’ joke and not based on reality.

That's what gets me. So much effort is put into pretending they are something they are not, when they clearly don't believe that thing. They still want to be a peculiar people but they don't want others to think they are a peculiar people. So much deception.

Any connection between Chik Fil A and the LDS church in providing food franchises in temples is an April Fool's joke.
