Flagstaff Temple flyer - bigotry or genuine concern?

I have to admit the style of this flyer seems a bit too 1935 for me:



But I should also note that there are genuine real concerns about the LDS church seeking (and steamrolling over opposition to) special exceptions to the building ordinances.

Temple architects have the capability to take a Frank Lloyd Wright approach and build a Temple that meets the nature of Flagstaff and not be an eyesore or source of light pollution; something that the Flagstaff community could feel a sense of pride about.

Not all Temples have to be based on a cookie-cutter design. Give the Flagstaffians something more as good PR.

The Grady Gammage Auditorium in Tempe is a stunningly beautiful example of FLW's style and design. There is no Mormon temple like that.

They are architecture school grads. They've studied the many styles and projects. They can observe what blends into a high desert area.

What immediately jumped out at me are the colors matching the landscape and how it complements other Arizona structures.

Nelson wants to be the one to usher in the Second Coming by announcing more temples than they can get built in both his and his successors' lifetimes. He’s stealing everyone’s temple thunder for himself. The Russia Temple announcement showed that.
