Just look at some of the rave reviews. I can’t wait for the Interpreter’s review by Kyle Rasmussen or Allen Wyatt.
"With faith-based skepticism and a hint of irreverence... The work will best serve readers hoping to resolve specific issues with how the Bible is used."
―Library Journal
"Smart and historically grounded... Combining fine-grained textual analysis with enlightening historical context, this is a valuable resource."
―Publishers Weekly
"McClellan’s work is worth your time. In fact, it’s a great gift. I plan to give it to my parents and in-laws."
―The Exponent II
"[McClellan's] humor and approachability are a big part of the appeal."
―Jana Reiss, Religious News Service
"McClellan’s perspective is an antidote to so much that is unnecessarily harsh about our current culture―and his work serves as a map for how we can approach many of life’s bigger questions and debates."
―Pulling the Thread with Elise Loehnen
"McClellan is a compelling author. And he does go for the hard bits. So, there’s lots to find to engage. This book is pretty much his greatest hits. So, if you’ve been watching him for any time, you’ll be familiar at least with his bigger themes. But this offers another angle in. It’s a book well worth buying and well worth reading."
―Rev. James Ford, Unanswered Question
"This book empowers readers to engage with the Bible without fear of questioning. For anyone seeking to understand the Bible beyond literal and inerrant interpretations, Dan's work is an essential guide to finding a more compassionate and authentic connection with scripture…a much-needed resource for the deconstructing Christian."
―Karla Kamstra, TikTok's @Karla Kamstra and author of Deconstructing: Leaving Church, Finding Faith
"At last, a no-nonsense, go-to guide to what the Bible can or cannot be held to endorse. Combining characteristic honesty with whip-smart knowledge and scholarly integrity, Dan McClellan tells it like it really is. Whether you’re shocked or delighted by this book, I guarantee there’s no better guide to what the Bible really says―and what it doesn’t."
―Francesca Stavrakopoulou, Professor of Hebrew Bible & Ancient Religion, University of Exeter
"Dan reawakened my faith in the Bible... Knowing the context of the stories to the people who participated in them, and what they thought at the time, makes it so much more relevant to today for me and made the book relevant in my life again... Thanks, Dan. Buy this book."
―Joel McHale, American actor and comedian
"Dan McClellan is a myth buster and teacher extraordinaire of all things Bible. In his social media and podcasts he works to set the record straight and is unafraid to stand against the distorted interpretations that masquerade as mainstream today. His book is sure to become a classic in the category of contemporary biblical interpretation."
―Liz Bucar, Professor of Religion, Northeastern University, author of Stealing My Religion
“Dan McClellan has turned me into a Bible-lover… The hallmark of any objective, critically thinking, “I ain’t got no dog in the fight, except the truth” scholar, is a desire to inform, educate, and elicit even more questions about such a powerful subject; all without malice toward his challengers.... Dan is an accomplished scholar, writer, podcaster, daily TikTok-edifier and most importantly, a total cartoon geek.”
―Rob Paulsen, American voice actor
"McClellan brilliantly flicks to pieces so-called “biblical truths,” waves away rigid religious dogmas, and blows our minds with what this magisterial ancient poetic text really says about living, love, sin, and life."
―Jerry Saltz, senior art critic, New York Magazine, winner of the 2018 Pulitzer Prize for Criticism
"I'm on paid sabbatical from BYU in exchange for my promise to use this time to finish two books."

Thanks for the information!

Coming tomorrow. Now I can become a Bible scholar. ;)

I hate to break it to you MG, but reading a book from a biblical scholar will not make you a biblical scholar. Just like reading one of your posts doesn’t make one a douche bag. ;)
Juvenile. Cheap shot. From a liar.

That’s some great missionary work, MG. Speaking of lying, still waiting for your DSM source/citation. I’ve gone out on a limb for you on this one and told people you weren’t being dishonest and wouldn’t lie about a source. I know you’ll provide it soon.

Just have some disavowals handy to protect you if your Stake President interrogates you.

Three cheers to Dr. McClellin!!!

Maybe this will prompt Dr. Peterson to finish up his treatise on Tapirs unto the Battle.

I don't think that will be necessary. My Stake President doesn't go around 'interrogating' people to the best of my knowledge. I've had a couple of in depth conversations with him having to do with some pretty deep stuff. He expressed his own thoughts, we agreed that there are things we don't understand completly, we got to know each other better, and went on our own individual ways.

One thing I've noticed that seems to run in common among those that have either left the church or are antagonistic towards its leaders. Generally speaking, critics/antagonists look at every leader as being the 'bogeyman'. And that they...the critic...ALWAYS know better.

Well, how about that? A hearty congratulations to Maklelan! And as the B. H. Roberts Chair, this is especially satisfying because of how insanely jealous DCP will be about this. lol! Let’s see if this gets a mention on SeN—or, even better, if it gets reviewed by Interpreter!
It's hard for me to predict how the Mopologists will react beyond disbelief that it isn't they winning the praise of the world over their ideas about limited geography. "But I held the fax in my very hands! the world will rue the day!"

If their audience is Christian, they want the Bible to be wrong in order to not be better than the Book of Mormon, but if their audience is secular, they want the Bible to be right. Plus, they have to decide if Dan is one of theirs they can promote to bolster their own reputation, or is he a fifth column? Some hard choices.

At any rate, Maklelan definitely deserves congratulating on this awesome success.

You are so freaking full of B.S., Wang. Gone out on a limb, right.

Go out on a limb and contact me privately and prove that you know who I am in real life.

I know folks are getting tired of me asking you to do this, and they will protect you through making no comment on your perfidious behavior.

I think it is important for folks to know that for months now Wang has not responded. He's hiding something.

So no source, MG? It’s okay. Everyone knew you were lying. Just admit it and move on. It’s painfully embarrassing for us to see you constantly dodge and change the subject. I forgive you for lying. Now go forth and sin no more.

Keep up the great missionary work for all to see.

I think that at this point in time it might be necessary to refresh our memory. Please link us to the specific comments that you seem to be overly concerned with and troubled by so that we can contextually see/observe what is causing you to do the "rehash" thing that I have recently expressed concern with. The problem with rehashing is that things often get distorted and out of the original context.

But you probably know that. It gives you something to play with though, right?
