Mormons are at best mysterious and at worst wierd!!!!

I have never taught that they are o opposites sides of a spectrum, just that they are not the same thing, nor do they carry the same weight. And yes, I went by the monicker "The Damned Dope" on another board in the past. So, it's good to see you again.

The whole thing made me chuckle.
I have been reading inaccurate newsreports on Mormons for years.

Some of the doctrine they got about right, but I wonder how they picked up on the Wierd/mysterious thing!
I wonder if he is right in his summation of the perception of Mormonism from the wider general public of the good
American people?

I'm not American. Over here. I'd say he's got the perception about right - bending towards the wierd I think.
But over there, I have no idea?
Is that really how Mormons are perceived?
Do you think public investigation into Mormonism initiated by Mitt's run for presidency will be good for Mormonism?
Will it change the mind of the American Public from a wierd/mysterious continium to say a
christian-liberal/fundamentalist one? (for example)
What do you think?

Saying someone is weird is as unscientifically biased and opinionated as saying someone is beautiful or nice. Weird means not followng the normal, but what is honestly normal?! Someoe who acts like everyone else? Pretty much everyone else in this country is flippin schizophrenic. I am considered weird because I am so happy. I have actually been complained about in the local grocery store that I am weird because I am so happy all the time. Now is this going to give me concern and make me want to change my happiness in order to fit in some weird paradigm that is so far off and less than happy just to make sure I am not labeled weird? Don't count o it. I am considered weird because I am not suffering normally as everyone else is. Then in that case, count me weird, but I don't see that as a liability.
