It looks like you misread me. My comments were not a slam on you in any way, shape, or form. Bond...James Bond is 100% correct:

I'm fairly sure Shades isn't talking at you or any of the new people. Alot of that was meant for the older posters and the rest was an introduction to the board. Things have been a little tense lately and a State of the Board was needed :) You haven't said anything bad (yet) so don't worry. You're golden so far.
Let me reiterate: You've said and/or done absolutely nothing wrong. You are 100% welcome here and I for one am glad to have you.

I must seem like I dropped out of the sky. Sorry. I just found out what BYU/FARMS was. For almost 3 years I thought people were talking about an actual Farm.
Like wheat farm, produce, veggies.
Thanks again.
FARMs is where the big pile of horse SH*T lives, a.k.a. Mormon apologists.
Fitting name eh?
They recently changed their name to the institute of one-of-their-dead-apostles Maxwell..
I forgot to mention something in the opening post. Let's say why me's worst fears come true and this board becomes dominated by critics. EVEN SO, we still have an Ace-in-the-hole which ought to keep this board fun & vibrant for some time to come: The fact that we, unlike any other board, allow cross-posting from anywhere.
Most boards are jealous of their own content and refuse to allow discussions of the goings-on at other boards. Not us. So anyone who is banned from or dissatisfied with any other board is free to vent about it here. For that matter, if an interesting thread is closed on any other board, anyone is free to drop in and keep the discussion going over here.

Cooper, check this link out for MAD. http://www.mormonapologetics.org/index.php?showforum=11 This is the forum that is so often discussed here. Many of the participants on this board have shared experiences there. There is no better way to understand it than by taking a gander at it. This board is holding out the promise of being an alternative to MAD that allows its participants a much greater freedom of expression.
The simple fact that a discussion such as this is taking place distinguishes Mormon Discussion from MAD. It is firmly rooted in the American principal of free speech. Internet forums are slightly different than the soap box orations in the park however, in that participants can't just move to other parts of the park unless separate forums are provided for various types of free speech. With the combinations of forums here, you can have everything from the intellectual to the mundane to the raunchy. In other words, something for everyone.
Personally, I gravitate to the mundane, but I appreciate my mundane with only a little raunchy on the side. Hold the intellectual.
Dr. Shades and Mr. Scratch also run blogs on this site (check the top.......................^^^^^^) concerning the MAD board exiles and the major MAD personalities.

You'll have to cut-and-paste the link, as that board blocks links from this board.

There is some lettuce produced on the FARM but mostly scholarly research is produced. However, at times, potatoes are harvested but mostly FARMites eat academic journals. That being said, the critics here tend to downplay FARMS as a mediocre endeavor, fit for pig food. But I think that they do a great job and you can access their work via the internet. But remember, we are all humans and make human mistakes even on the FARM.

However, it needs to be pointed out that Mr. Scratch tends to use his imagination just a wee bit too much in his descriptions of MADites. But he does have a rather human centered sense of humor to his writings about the MADites.
You gotta like the guy...for some reason....even when he is dissing you.....
