That is interesting, but not relevant to my question (which, in case you aren't able to figure it out on your own, my question had to do with his being suspended at MA&D, rather than when he joined this board. In other words, I am asking about how he was able to keep from being suspended at MA&D until now, when so many here have long been banned from there?).

Thanks, -Wade Englund-

I was thinking (knowing how intelligent you are) that you'd be able to read between the lines. Apparently I overestimated.

Let me lay out what i was trying to say:

Critics appear to be banned/suspended shortly after joining this board.

Sethbag's (although he's been on FAIR/MAD for a while now) only recently joined this board, and now he's been suspended.

Thus, Sethbag was able to avoid being suspended for so long, because he stayed away from this board. Got it this time?

Wade, I don't know why I haven't been banned yet. It's not because I hold back my criticism. It may be related to my efforts to keep my tone as civil as possible. I've tried not to give them an excuse to ban me, and so far they haven't found one. This is my 2nd suspension, actually. The first one was a month or so ago for publicly questioning why a moderator logged into my account controls and ninja-edited my sig line.

Oh my gosh, I'm just shocked, shocked!!!! ;)

In regards to your specific sin, apologists on MAD are very diligent in their attempts to portray the LDS church as unfairly victimized by mainstream religions, and completely innocent of any reciprocal bad behavior. The fact that the most sacred scripture handed out to investigators specifically calls other religions abominations and their professors corrupt is irrelevant, in their opinion. (I once had a conversation with apologists in which they insisted that "professors" meant only the professional preachers, so that was supposed to make it better.)

But to bring into open, on a board where this illusion is carefully nurtured, the fact that the most sacred LDS ceremony repeated, time after time, that satan was the inspiration behind other religions is unacceptable. Of course you were whacked.
We hate to seem like we don’t trust every nut with a story, but there’s evidence we can point to, and dance while shouting taunting phrases.

Hi Wade,

Asbestosman has the answer. The MAD Mods intend to come down harder on the critics, and have stated as much. I managed to make 3435 in about 17 months without getting Q'd, suspended, or banned. I've also had an account on this board for about 6 months. I haven't changed my posting style, yet here I am on suspension for asking Dr. Peterson a yes/no question that sorta' put him on the spot. The MAD Mods have changed their attitude, that's all.

Yes...I see now.

However, the reason for my not grasping this before, was because I had presumed that your answer would have been at least somewhat logical--i.e. made sense. Clearly, I was being too charitable. As it turns out, you committed the fallacies of hasty generalization and faulty causation.

For one, many MD participants first came to this board in consequence of their having been banned from FAIR/MA&D. So, at least in their cases, your "reasoning" doesn't apply.

For another, there are participants who have been on this board longer than two weeks, who are not currently suspended from MA&D, and others who had only been here a short time, who were banned. Again, at least in their cases, your "reasoning" doesn't apply.

Also, there are many here who have been banned, whereas sethbag has only been suspended. So, yet again, your "reasoning" doesn't apply.

Finally, according to sethbag, the suspension was due to the content of his post at MA&D, and not his participation here. Again, your "reasoning" doesn't apply.

Wade---

I think you are going to have to concede that the fittingly named MADmods ban people for very silly and arbitrary and unfair reasons. There is simply no way around this fact.

I can see how that would explain your own suspension at this point in time. However, I don't see how it explains why you were able to last there for 19 months, and up until recently, when others have been banned from there for quite some time.

What I am trying to draw attention to is the seeming disparity between your's and sethbag's more successful, though far from perfect, attitude and behavior at MA&D, and the less functional attitudes and behaviors of others here. You have been able to demonstrate a greater ability to get along with, or at least not repel, those with differing opinions from your own. That is somewhat to your and sethbag's credit, and something others of us may learn from.

It also gives indication of how one may avoid even the kinds of things that got you and sethbag suspended--assuming that is what one wants (and judging from the obsession of some for the goings-on at MA&D, that is of utmost importance).

Thanks, -Wade Englund-

Dude, until you can show why most of us were banned from MAD, lay off the holier-than-thou bullsh!t. Nobody's buyin it.

Edit - I've figured out who you are! You're MDB's version of Charity! It's perfect!

Amen, WK.

Wade: you have been saying for months now that you are somehow able (via your Power of Discernment, perhaps?) to "pick out" the reasons why posters such as myself, Rollo, WK, Pokatator, Moksha, Harmony, Kevin Graham, and many others have been banned from MAD. What is the reason, Wade? Why won't you tell us? You have said elsewhere that you want us all to somehow magically "figure it out on our own." Well, enough already! Tell us! Tell us why we were banned, Wade! Or are you incapable of doing that?

I had around 4000 posts. One thing that distinguished my posts from the Dude's was that he said intelligent stuff.

The mods feathers would be less likely to ruffle if someone would epoxy them properly into place. Till then, it will just be a matter of time for Sethbag.
