You need to break your question down to its most basic point.
Is Jesus the Christ? The answer of coarse is yes. Anyone who is told otherwise is listening to a false spirit. This is without question.
Now, a true follower of Christ must be baptised (Mark 16:16)and take upon themselves his name and receive the gift of the Holy Ghost (Acts 8:14-17). Any spirit testifying of something other than this is not of God.
This series of questions moves on to authority, the need for Prophets, the need for Temple ordinances, and so on. if the basics are true (And they are) the rest is also. don't spend so much time on the nonsence, go back and study the first principles. Come back to the harder questions after youve been refreshed.
And always pray, asking for the spirit.

So basically you do not have an answer, you just know that if he asks anyone with a Mormon opinion...and only them...that JB will come around and see that those who do not tow the Mormon line are just the 'overwhelming Misguided Majority'.
Jason, if what he said was your sole basis of establishing fact what kind of answer do you believe you would recieve?
The more diverse of a range of opinions you get the more apt you are to feel like you have made the right decision, irregardless of whether you change your opinion regarding the church or if your opinion stays the way it is right now. Could it swing the other way and your testimony is strengthened by what you learned? Possibly, but frankly in my limited experience a large part of why I follow the path I walk now is because I could not accept these tests as credible indicators of truth.
Hard science bud. that's where the only reproducible truth is found.

No. I just want him to get a better story from the pro-LDS side. I am woefully inadequate to address his concerns. I am not telling him that he must not consider other opinions. Jason may or may not conclude as I have. I just hope he gives it a fair shot. I am, unfortunately underqualified to help in this regard.

If it's without question, how can it have an answer, let alone, the answer be yes? This is classic Mormonspeak. I am listening to a false spirit??? How is your hypothesis that Jesus is the Christ, disproved?

How are we to know that Paul was not influenced by "something not of God" when he wrote this?

Sorry, but this is classic control technique, and the question that Jason was originally asking about. If you don't get the "required" answer, go back to the basics, read the scriptures, fast and pray, always asking for the spirit, and "in time" you will get the required answer. If you don't, do as instructed on the shampoo bottle, "REPEAT".

Is bob the great Slack Bringer of earth? The answer of coarse is yes. Anyone who is told otherwise is a false representative of the Church of the Subgenius.
Now, a true follower of Bob must partake of Slack. And take upon themselves Bobs Duties and receive the gift of Slack. Any pink telling you to step in line is not a friend of Bob.
This series of questions moves on to authority, the need for People like Bob, the need for Slack, and so on. if the basics Of the Church of the Subgenius are true (And they are) the rest is also. don't spend so much time on the Pinks, go back and study the first principia Discordia. Come back to the harder questions after youve given yourself to Bob.

Yes, that whole experience of being LDS is going to hinder his abilities to understand the matters of which he is discussing.
I might almost suggest you apologize to Jason for assuming he is uneducated concerning the matters with which he speaks. I am quite sure he has a good knowledge of detecting situations of truthiness.

Huh? I'm not saying Jason is uneducated concerning the matters of which he speaks. He asked for a TBM to reply here and I'm asking him to look elsewhere for a better reply. If worded it poorly, I appologize for that.

I was implying (maybee poorly) that you are asking him to go through the motions again.
