Runtu wrote:It's funny how you can interact with people online and never have a clue what they look like. Of course, you all know by now that I look like Matthew Broderick, only far more handsome. So I've always had these mental images of people, especially if they don't have an avatar. So, here are my mental images of some select people (who don't have images of people in their avatars).
Dr. Shades: Peter Sellers as Dr. Strangelove
Liz: Jean Smart (don't have any idea why)
beastie: For some reason, I picture my exmo sister (also don't know why)
gramps: The Edge
Sono_hito: River Phoenix with his hair grown out
Gazelam: A young David Bednar
maklelan: Frank "Grimey" Grimes
Fortigurn: Edmund Blackadder
moksha: still can't shake the Gandalf association
Coggins7: Steve Martin at the beginning of "The Jerk"
asbestosman: Reverend Camden from "Seventh Heaven"
Some MADB posters:
charity: either Doris Roberts or Edie McClurg
Pahoran: Robert Patrick in Terminator 2
Hammer: Eddie Haskell
Grimey? And this whole site is Homer Simpson? I'll get another avatar so you guys can see that I do not at all resemble Grimey.
Edit: OK, I don't know how to get a picture of myself up there, but here's my myspace pictures page. I also have some artwork from years ago up there, so you can judge me as an artist instead an apologist.
OK, that doesn't work either. Let's see. . .

Hmmm. I know what you look like, but how to do justice to you? You could send me a photo, and I'll use my trusty photoshop to make it small enough.

Too funny. Actually, if you check out The Edge, sans the mustache and goatee, and replace that with a five-day growth beard, we are damn close.
What, don't tell me, you have your own peepstone?
P.S. What is really uncanny, is that when I did wear a mustache-goatee thingy, I match. When I am really bombed one evening, I'll throw some up pictures when I was traveling through Africa and Holland. You can see the mustache-goatee thing for real. And maybe some now with much less hair, just like The Edge, and with the five-day growth look.
Thanks for the fun and laughs.

Sorry. Some of your earlier posts reminded me of Grimey's exasperation with Homer, and it stuck. :-)

I always associate people with their avatars. I keep thinking gramps has a huge beard (from his avatars on other message boards).

Well, I've never had the one on the FLAK board, but I have had a big beard and I'll throw up as well, too (when I'm bombed).

I had to look up a few of those to know what they looked like. What an excellent choice for Pahoran. Strangely, Kemara would look exactly the same, but with his hair parted in the middle - same writing style though....

I have to say that after reading some of the MAD posters I get a different impression.

Ouch. She's 57 years old.
Well, I was thinking of Jean Smart from the Designing Women era. :-)
Nice save, dear. You're lucky that that's the image of her that sticks in my mind, too. LOL
