My other guess would be a new temple.
Yahoo, so 10 years from now they'll have 20,000 members (two-thirds of them inactive) in a country of over 1 billion people.
Yes indeed, the stone clunks forth.
God . . . "who mouths morals to other people and has none himself; who frowns upon crimes, yet commits them all; who created man without invitation, . . . and finally, with altogether divine obtuseness, invites this poor, abused slave to worship him ..."
I wonder if perhaps GBH will retire? That would certainly be historical. And, I think, it would make sense. The phenomenon of the last 40 or 60 years or so of LDS prophets being ancient by the time they finally die has caused some trouble before, and is certainly a topic of importance, where they would be wise to come up with some kind of solution. Taking the opportunity now to set a precedent for a prophet of very advanced age retiring and letting a new person take over, would be an important precedent to set, and it would be important for this to be set while GBH is still relatively healthy, of sound mind, etc. so as to avoid any conspiracy theories and shadows of the whole Ezra Taft Benson situation.

Mormonism ceased being a compelling topic for me when I finally came to terms with its transformation from a personality cult into a combination of a real estate company, a SuperPac, and Westboro Baptist Church. - Kishkumen
The Holy Ghost has confirmed to me that the major announcement is that the LDS church is going to merge with another organization. He's still hazy on the details, but candidates include:
A) The Roman Catholic Church (the new organization to be known as "The Roman Catholic Jesus Christ Church of Latter Day Saints")
B) Walmart (The Church of Jesus Christ of Always Low Prices...Always)
C) both Target and Popeyes Chicken (The Targeted Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Biscuit Eaters)
D) both The Greek Orthodox Church and Islam (the Greek Orthodox Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Muslims)
E) The Internal Revenue Service (name unchanged, but tithing rate goes up to 13% and more ineptness....nevermind)

I'll tell you what most of us who have young kids think would be a helpful change.....Have the Sunday meeting schedule changed from three hours to two hours.
Keeping little kids entertained for one hour during Primary would be a lot easier than two. Besides, during Sunday School, you have quite a few people sitting out in the hall socializing anyway.
For those of us who have families where both parents work, and there are quite a few of us, it would be nice to have a Sunday where I actually have some family time. Right now, I feel like Sunday is just another work day, except I'm going to Church instead of work.
OK, Coggins, BC, et. al....go ahead and rake me over the coals for voicing what I'm sure quite a few faithful LDS are thinking.

If it feels like work, why go?
